In 1687 Isaac Newton published a book that taught people more about gravity and the laws of motion - and many of his theories were used for centuries to come.
His 'law of gravitation' describes the attraction between different bodies like for instance the earth and the moon. A concept that is still studied today.
His laws of motion is actually 3 laws.
- What is physics?
- What is another name for the first law?
- What will cause an object to move?
- Why will an object stop moving?
- Can you explain the first law of motion?
- Watch the rest of the video and explain the second and the third law of motion in your own words.
Isaac Newton made many discoveries and two important ones are the refraction of light and also him building the first practical telescope used.
In 1696 he moved to England, where he got the job as overlooking the production of the pound sterling at the royal mint (he checked that everything was going smoothly with making the money.)
