THE LONELIEST TREE IN THE WORLD CAME FROM SOUTH AFRICA

I never thought that a tree can be lonely. Today I am showing you the loneliest tree in the world.

It is standing in the Kew gardens in the U.K. but it actually came from South Africa.

If this was not for one man that saw the tree, and decided to take a piece to the U.K. there would not even be one left.

We forget to teach children that there are trees that need female and male trees to be able to make new trees and fruit.

One of them is the avocado tree and for it to produce fruit you need to have both male and female not growing too far apart.

Here is a tree that works the same but unfortunately there is only the one.

That is the reason why we cannot produce more of them.

It is a beautiful cycad tree that is kept growing in the Kew gardens.

It is sad if you think where the origin is and we have nothing to show for it.

Sort:

Avocado? I don't think so... But for that kind of plant, CYCADS I have no idea...
