Animals You Wouldn't Suspect Could be Dangerous
I'm sure by now we all think that we know which animals are deadly to be around and keep a distance. But what about those adorable looking animals? Could those adorable faces be all an act? Let's find out...
Below are a few dangerous animals.
Perry the platypus from Phineas and Ferb, was definitely a very cute and gentle pet but one thing for sure is that in reality, male platypuses are very dangerous. Male platypuses are able to release a defensive substance from spurs on their ankles which can cause excruciating pain.
Lonomia caterpillar, it's just a regular caterpillar right? Sure it looks quite funky, but don't be fooled. Getting pricked by this caterpillar can make your blood cells break down and cause over-clotting. You will later end up dying.
Box jellyfish, such a gorgeous creature! This captivating creature is able to grow 15 tentacles from each corner and is able to attack the heart, skin cells and the nervous system by delivering toxins from each of the tentacles which have 5,000 stinging cells.
Short tailed shrew, such a tiny mammal! This cute mammal has VENOMOUS SALIVA which it injects into the wounds of the prey through its teeth. Totally not something you'd expect from such a cute little thing!
Poison dart frog, looks so tropical and quite harmless. But poison dart frogs secrete a glossy substance all over their body which are actually toxins that can kill you! Touching them can cause nausea, muscular paralysis, swelling and of course death. Though death is on the list, you'd have to have a wound or ingest the frog for it to get that bad.
Lastly the stone fish, this fish honestly just one mean and scary looking fish! The stonefish has spikes all over its back with venom in them that will kill you within hours if not treated! If treated, you could experience abnormal heart rate, numbness, blisters, headaches, nausea, vomiting, and paralysis just to name a few.
