Open and distance learning is a technology- and resource-supported modality to make itself accessible in the face of the geographical, economic and occupational constraints of the students who join the method. Therefore, the student's success lies in his or her autonomy, abilities and commitment to work independently.

Distance education is a series of challenges for students because it breaks with the traditional pattern and requires a lot of mental strength combined with determination to succeed:

The non-presential mode

Studying and learning new subjects without the help of teachers is the main challenge of distance education, but to overcome this obstacle it is necessary to make optimal and correct use of all the means and resources offered by the institution and the new technologies.

Organize time effectively

To achieve the ideal balance between work, home and distance education, the student must schedule an effective time allocation and commit to the established schedule.

Be able to learn on your own

Not everyone has the same autonomy when it comes to studying, so students should be aware of their own ability to set realistic goals such as how many subjects they can handle at a time and how much time they will spend each day.

Becoming familiar with information and communication technologies

Distance education implies that the student must become familiar with the use of technology to carry out administrative processes, to communicate with their teachers and to be able to access the new knowledge that can be obtained from the Internet with only a little skill.

In order to guarantee the success of the distance learning modality, the student must overcome and adapt to all these and:

• Become a manager of your own time in an efficient and productive way.
• Effectively manage the resources available to you.
• Take advantage of the tools offered by the institution.
