The Organization of the space at the time of studying at home.

in #steemiteducation6 years ago (edited)
It is important that at the time of studying the student has a space that meets the physical and environmental conditions required to maintain the necessary concentration and be able to do the activities assigned to the home. For this, the balance of both environmental elements or external factors (place, lighting, noise) and the elements that make up the act of studying must be maintained: mind and time. Being these in harmony you can effectively organize the study form and at the same time you can learn and therefore improve the academic performance.

You can not study everywhere, you should have a work environment as comfortable and quiet as possible and that facilitates the study, that is clean and organized, it is recommended that it be a specific or fixed place dedicated exclusively to the study to achieve create a habit, which will make you feel more comfortable. Where everything is organized and where you do not have distractors or interruptions, aspects that condition the student's performance. Remember that there is a great interaction between the student and the environment where it is developed, and if an external factor distracts you, more effort and more time will be used, determining your study to be effective.

All environmental elements are external agents that have a positive or negative impact on the quality of the study, but that can be changed or improved by adapting and modifying it according to our requirements, which will make the work environment an appropriate place to study, so much so that Sometimes you will feel more enthusiasm and more desire to study.

What Can I Change or Improve?

In the environment of the place of study there are basic aspects as they are: The Lighting, Temperature, Noises, Ventilation, Accessories - furniture (Work Table, Chair, Lamps). These aspects can be improved according to our needs by performing some actions which I mention below:

Lighting:
The lighting of our place of study is one of the most important aspects that we must consider, since we must take care of the sight to avoid eye diseases such as myopia and eye fatigue. Generally, it is recommended to study under natural light; however, there are places where it is necessary to install artificial light and it is suggested that bluish-colored light bulbs are used at an adequate distance, since this helps not to strain the eyes.

Temperature:
A very cold or very hot environment, develops a condition that acts as an obstacle to concentration and this produces discomfort. When the body temperature increases, a message is sent to the brain through the skin, which produces more blood supply and by the elimination of fluid through sweat the skin cools; When the temperature drops, the blood vessels in the skin contract, and less blood circulates. It is recommended that an average temperature between 17 and 21 degrees Celsius be maintained in our study site.

Avoid noise:
In my personal opinion, to maintain concentration the study site should be a suitable place where you can study without there being too much noise, quiet and without distractors. This place should be as far away as possible from the loud noises of the outside (street, cars, motorcycles, music), as well as the interior (TV, radio, telephone, etc.) Silence will help you to concentrate. Noise is a negative aspect both for the study, and for the nervous and auditory system, especially when they are loud sounds.

Studying with music:
This factor is favorable for some people, who have become accustomed to studying with instrumental or classical music at low volume since they consider that they clear their mind and relax. But if the study involves concentration it is preferable to avoid any kind of music.

Ventilation:
There must be good ventilation in the room or place of study so that the brain works less, the student breathe better and avoid fatigue, fatigue, dizziness and headache.

Source

Accessories:
(Work table, Chair, lamps, erasers, rules, notebooks)
It is recommended that the room has a table for the study, which must be located in a space where there is adequate lighting, in addition to using a chair that meets the requirements of ergonomics and that favors your posture, not so comfortable because it can induce sleep. On our desk should not be missing pens, pencils, erasers, sheets, notebooks, in order all the required materials should be available and organized to avoid waste of time looking for materials.

Activities you must do to verify if your place of study meets the minimum conditions to study:

  • Is the space I use to study, is it silent or are there noises?
  • Does it have adequate lighting?
  • Are there distracting agents?
  • What is your school performance?
  • Do you have the necessary accessories (study table, ergonomic chair, lamps), are they the most suitable ?.
  • I consider that the study site is the most appropriate one I have in my home?
  • Do you think it is convenient to change or improve the environment of the place where you study?

Finally to conclude, the student is required to make an illustration of a place that he considers ideal to study, for this it is necessary to take into account the following aspects:

  • Place.
  • Illumination.
  • Ventilation.
  • Temperature.
  • Noise level.
  • Dimensions.
  • Accessories.
Once the student makes drawn up, he makes a comparison between the ideal place and the place he has to study; then issue comments and recommendations that can improve or change your current place of study.
