For A Better World - The Current Leaders Have To Be Thoughtful Creators: The Beginning

in #steemiteducation6 years ago (edited)

First off, this would be a totally different world if there were not legal separations by regions. I mean, if we could just cut off once and for all these obtuse borders that divide us as if one another represent a threat by default.

Acknowledging that we should have the freedom to decide what to do with our lives, it doesn't mean that we are entitled to restricting others. This absurd way has led us to make others ask for permission to stepping into our own homeland.

It would be marvelous IF rights were really protected. The rights to move freely throughout this earth. But there is still a long way to go to achieve it.

As for the time being, I must admit that such a change now is impossible. We have to evolve first because it will be pretty vain from my part to declare humanity will comprehend this one day without an internal change.

So, for now, why don't we start by getting the best from what we do right now. And along the way we can tweak our path, change the course if necessary. It must be a progressive journey that derives from our initial desire and subsequently quest for improvement. That's why part of the title of this entry appears the word "beginning" because I would like to assume that, even in the current way of thinking humans relies on, there are things we can use to build solid foundations for an integral and only one society.

The Dilemma

After watching the movie: "The Day The Earth Stood Still," something popped up to my mind, and I ended it up turning it into a dilemma. It goes like this:

Imagine that a being from another planet comes to earth with the sole purpose of conveying a message of extreme interest for the human race. And after going through the several inconveniences of trying to convincing us that there's not threat, the being is taken to the stage where anyone can address to the world (The United Nations).

Once there, the being steps into the platform and stands behind the podium, seeing all the chancellors from the different countries showing eager faces. The being looks around, focusing on the country name signboard that rests on the desks of every representative. Suddenly, the being steps back, and calls for a nearby security officer. The man approaches and leans over his head to listen to the being.

A second later the man says something inaudible to the others ministries. The being frowns and then proceeds to get off the platform. The being now takes the most immediate exit looking seemingly confused. Some people go after the being, but they find nothing. The being just disappears.

They rushed back to the security officer and demand to know what the being said. The man says that the being asked him how many species live on earth. The chancellors reply: And what did you say? The man sighs, and finally said: I just replied that there's only one.

This is the current representation of the world. It is what we've made out of it. We build borders not only physicals but also intellectuals. The supposed leaders have just risen barriers because of personal ambitions. And they have established a fictional fear in the minds of people to make them believe they are secured behind these walls.

The philosophical stone is in the hands of anyone

Some years ago, an entrepreneur called Ludwick Marishane from South Africa proposed an idea to help citizens. The people there lack adequate water and sanitation so after deep thought, he conceived a solution to this problem. He developed a gel that doesn't require water to activate. It was called waterless bath. You can read more about him here.

It was a long journey he took in order to be listened and supported. Long story short, he was able to get his revolutionary idea come true. He went through many bureaucratic hurdles but his determination was paramount.

Thoughtful creators take on problems in a very broad way. People like him transform the world. They are innovators, always looking ahead. Some of them are even ahead of their time. They see a situation and their proactive minds spark, throwing all kinds solutions.

And by their examples they can inspire others to do the same. To be reckless when facing a problem. To not step back and say it cannot be done. They have original ideas and combine them with other contributors. They believe in the true integration which brings sustainable development.

Getting into the consideration state

I've implied in previous posts that what stops us from improving our life is ourselves. And this happens because we don't considerate options, alternatives, and possibilities.

Considerations is that state we arrive after the initial thinking towards an inclination to take action on a situation or something. And here lies the problem because we often block recommendations. Whenever something is proposed, we tend to reject immediately. And the reasons may vary. Some of them are due to conflicts of interests, and others because they go against our traditions.

So, the plan of action is very narrow. There's little room to maneuver. The most common solution is fall back on the regulations of societies we already know of, and pick up the preconceived ways to proceed.

It may sound trite, but I cannot stress enough in the old saying that we have to span our views. And this is not about discarding concepts. That depends on the whole free will gift anyone possesses. It's about sheltering that there are infinite ways in most cases to flourish. And it is imperatively required to be receptive to diverse ideas.

A world full of possibilities

The simple fact that Ludwick Marishane came up with a meaningful idea highlights his principles he stands for. And more importantly, it gives us an insight how his mind works.

A mind like his doesn't discriminate. It embraces participation and strives for productive inputs. There's not divisions since a good idea is always a good idea no matter wherever it comes from. Anyone can contribute based on his or her personal abilities. How would the world be IF there were more people like him in the most influential places and positions?

This is a question whose answer is simple, but the implementation is not welcomed yet.
