EDUCATION IS A POWERFUL WEAPON

It makes me sad whenever I see students that are not serious in their studies and just taking it for granted. They don’t realize how fortunate they are to have the privilege to enter either an academy or university. Instead of striving hard and exerting a certain amount of effort in learning, some of them choose to spend their allowances in unimportant matters such as attending a party, drinking, smoking and buying prohibited drugs.

On the other side, I salute those youths with a great discipline on themselves. Pursuing in college is difficult specially if you came from a poor family but this kind of people are doing their best to get a better life through acquiring the proper education. Some of them are working as a part-timer while some of them are applying in every scholarship that offers an opportunity to help in terms of financial assistance.

What are the advantages of being educated?

It will shield us from being fooled by cheaters.

When someone is illiterate, it is easier to be a victim of signing false documents and be deprived of using his rights. Unlike if we have the knowledge, we can distinguish the truth from lies.

It is a ticket for having a brighter future.

Though it will not guarantee the richness in the fastest way that most of us will desire, it will open more decent jobs that can give us a reasonable salary. We can use it as our stepping stones in aiming the top.

It will make us understand the diversity of culture.

We will be facilitated on how to respect each of our differences and tolerating the attitude of one another. We are exposing ourselves to accept the historical origins of our peers with high appreciation on it.

It will serve as our voice to be heard by everyone.

There are many things that we can do in order to influence and inspire. If we are knowledgeable enough, we will be able to write sensible topics that can be both life-changing and effective motivation.

It will teach us to build our self-confidence.

We will be equipped with full determination of facing any hindrances and the courage to stand in our own feet. It will give us the guts to be independent and believe that we are always capable of doing something good.

Education is not there to give us the world but the mere presence of it will give us the means to survive while living in this cosmos. Yes, it is hard to learn every single thing from time to time and yet we must bear in mind that knowing nothing is even harder.

I don’t think that there are stupid humans; it is just a matter of being lazy in improving ourselves. We are not like the robots that only have limited programs; we have our free will to work hard in obtaining the skills needed to be a successful one.
