The media has deceived lots of people into thinking that success is all about being materially rich. They want people to acquire more and more gadgets and latest innovative products. Many people have pursued a materialistic lifestyle, often thinking that it will grantee true happiness. At the end of the day, they become disillusioned because material things alone can never make one to be truly happy. The irony is that the more you acquire this and that, they more you become less satisfied with life. This the reason why many rich people want to become richer. But does financial success bring true and lasting happiness? Many have found the answer to be know. True happiness is a product of many factors. One of them is contentment.

What is contentment? Here is how one dictionary (Wikipedia) defined it:

Contentment is a mental or emotional state of satisfaction maybe drawn from being at ease in one's situation, body and mind. Colloquially speaking, contentment could be a state of having accepted one's situation and is a milder and more tentative form of happiness.

People that are content with life are really happy with their condition at any point in time. They are less likely to be jealous of others or the progress they have made. Contentment protects one from developing envy and complaining about one's lot in life. True contentment brings real happiness when we do not try to live beyond one's income. Those that are not content with life easily misuse money. They are quick to buy unnecessary things and are also having huge debts.

When we are truly content with life, happiness is sure to follow it. We are not going to blame anyone for what we are going through. Contentment makes us take responsibility for what happens in our life and make us live for the day. In addition to hard work, contentment is a real key to be truly happy in life.
