Successful education

Have you ever thought about what is successful education?

As an educator, most of us measured our success by the performance of our pupils in their formal assessment like examination.

A teacher may feel great when all his/her pupils managed to score flying colours but are they really successful?

Short term success may not necessary lead to long term results in success.

An educator who only focuses in imparting knowledge but neglected of the joy and attitude of learning may not necessary produce great future achievers.

Joy of learning

As an educator, we often face low achievers who are unable to complete the required classroom tasks like the rest.

There can be many teachers who feel frustrated as you felt that the child did not pay good attention in class since you have already explained it clearly.

Many of the low achievers may have problem understanding the basic facts since the learning gaps may have been accumulated from the earlier years.

Some may also have learning needs where they have problem in mental processing.

I have personally believed that the joy of learning will lead to life-long learners.

The child may not necessarily do well when he/she with me but it is important to make the child have small steps of achievements different from the other pupils.

Build the child’s confidence. Infuse great joy in learning and this can have a lasting effect even when you are no longer teaching this child.

I have ex-students who have graduated and proceed to a higher education indicated their good progress when they came back to visit me during Teacher’s Day.

Remember to always ponder how they can make your lesson fun and engaging that all pupils can enjoy the learning process regardless of their learning abilities.

Simple kind words

Be generous with your praise.

Give praise even for small tasks accomplished by low achievers.
Your praise does not cost you much but to a young child, it makes a difference.

You are the teacher who have given the child the positivity required to have the drive to challenge their own learning gaps.

With the right attitude that they should not give up even when it was tough of them.

As long as they had tried their best, it is already a great job done!
The easiest thing to do is really ‘Praise, Praise and Praise!’

Hello @fun2learn, really being a teacher is not an easy profession but very enriching, especially because it gives you pleasant satisfactions with small details, you as a teacher know that you can positively influence the formation and education of a child is very rewarding , thank you for your recommendations are the best and the "Praise a child", although very small it seems the phrase is very big. Saluos and thanks for sharing!

Thank you for visiting! Teachers can really change the destiny of a child if we just give it a try!

I have personally believed that the joy of learning will lead to life-long learners.

Absolutely!!

I homeschooled my kids. The first things I taught them were things they wanted to learn, so they learned to love learning. I worked hard to instill a love for reading, which made my job easier. And I taught them how to learn independently so they could be life long learners.

I love this post and I hope lots of people read it and consider it, whether they are professional educators, or are just in a position to teach a child a little something. 👍👍

Teaching your kids from home is really something you must be determined and planned your own curriculum. It is definitely rewarding when you see your kids enjoy learning!

More rewarding than I could have imagined! My oldest graduated from collegea year and a half ago, and my second is apprenticing and considering college. My youngest just finished high school, we'll just have to see where his journey takes him, but I have high hopes! They are pursuing life in different ways, but they all love to learn. 💚📚

Thank you steemiteducation for bring educators and parents together to learn from one another. Cultivating the culture of sharing and learning on steemit platform. You have my support!

Relative to school success, many students seem to be without understanding the contents that are developing in the classroom and suddenly they are the best students of the school.
It is the responsibility of the teacher, to make their students feel comfortable with their interactions, make them feel important and always send them stimulating messages and personal improvement, which will serve their future.
That is the kind of educator that children deserve.

What a great writing, @fun2learn!..Successful education just can be facilitated by good educators who have worked hard to understand their students' characters well, to know how to treat their students with all their differences so that a good atmosphere in learning can be successfully created too. Fun and joyful learning, I do agree with this issue. At last, appreciation for all the students' hard works by giving praise, I also say "yes", but sometimes this such reward does not always give positive impact to a certain student.

Over praising may cause praise to be diluted and cheap too. Teachers should be generous with their praises but they should give praise at the right moment to have a greater impact.

Many useful information ! Will come back more !
Yes praises people to success!

Thanks for the visit!

Thank you for the beautiful insight. Indeed, children should be given the time to be children and to discover their ambition for themselves. As educators, we have to be extra careful not to complete their sentences but to be patient and encourage listening in group dynamics.

I love that seen from Rita season 1 (a danish show available on Netflix) where she makes the class listen to a teen who stutters as he read through the pages of a book aloud. At his peers laugh but soon enough they realize that they are witnessing a meaningful breakthrough.

Good advice to other educators! Thanks for coming by to visit and read my article!
