A DIFFERENT WAY TO DO LONG DIVISION.
I said yesterday that we were going to do a different way of doing long division.
This video just shows us that there are always different ways of working out a problem and this one is really kind of cool.
You can carry on without even thinking of struggling as this is divided up in amounts that are so easy to do.
Knowing this method might just make your division problem a little easier as not everyone always understand the long method.
The most important thing is to concentrate at the end to you if you have something left over and how to put it in your answer.
I am so impressed with this method because it will probably make life a lot easier for a lot of children.
Some children do not always understand the long method and when they do not keep them in the right order when they right them down they can really get mixed up.
In this method there is the easiest way of adding up and you will not have problems when you do not write everything under each other.
Just remember we first start with the long method to understand what long division is and that we did very nicely before. Just keeping by the rules of writing down on the right spot will make it easy as well.
This method is just a little easier and you will understand that you can write on the other side of the line and then add up so it is a little easier than getting mixed up when you do not write in the lines under the right number from above.
The choice is yours to decide which you find the easiest but this is maybe a chance for children who do not understand the long method so well.
Maths is such an important subject and you will find that out in time while you learn. All the things we learn will fit into one another in the end and you will be able to break up difficult maths problems into sections and do them one at a time. Then you can go back to the original question and see how you can answer it by using what you worked out before.
I really hope you enjoy these easier methods and that you will do them before a test.
Always remember practice makes perfect, and if you go through all the methods you will be very pleased with the mark you get on your test.
The whole idea is to watch the video and then practice with your own number to see it your answer is right.
You can then even use a calculator just to make sure you followed the steps and got the same answer as you have just done.
We do not use calculators as we work our answer out first, but just to check if you have done it right work out your answer on the calculator just to make sure you did not make any mistakes along the way.
