Reading is a written language, the power to interpret that language is essential for life, all people every day of their lives make use of reading, and without realizing they also use the ability to record sounds in memory, there are words that they are difficult to pronounce, in their language or in another, so in most cases we record in memory the form of pronunciation to be able to interpret and reproduce these words.

The phonological awareness from the first days.

Life is a continuous learning from the moment you are born, beyond the sophisticated name that you want to give to a learning process, in daily education we use teaching techniques to enhance the child's skills from their first steps. A very concrete and common example is when we want to teach a small child that when he or she says "No," "Stop," "Quiet," the child must stop or avoid doing something. When we approach a child and stare at him, we repeat the word "No", each time he does something we do not want him to do, emphasizing the words and sound, the child will associate the sound of the word as an order of stop to do something, even if you do not know completely the meaning of what is being said, this game of recording sounds and associating them, is the beginning of the development of phonological awareness in children.

Phonological awareness in reading.

The ability to read is one of the skills that many children take work to develop, in principle, learning to read is a work of memory, because the first thing taught is the sound of words, through monosyllables. Using initial reading didactic books is the first and main support of parents and teachers for this work, the most common task is to start joining the letters, show the child that each letter has a particular sound, for example, as the letter sounds "A", as it sounds like the letter "B" , and that if together two letters are in turn make a sound, that is where the premise of these initial reading books starts when we repeat the child many times "M with A is Ma", when the child is able to recognize the monosyllables, is able to join letters to form sounds and recognize them, then is ready for the next phase of the process which is to build words, such as "Ma-Ma" forms the word, mama, two equal sounds form a word.

This is based on the ability to read, to recognize sounds and join them to interpret them as words.

Activities to develop a phonological awareness

With children it is difficult to work and teach them in a structured way, long activities can be tedious for them and lose interest very quickly, so always suggest short activities, mainly games that are fun for them.

For the development of phonological awareness playing with words is the key, these games can be done in different ways:

• Rhymes are very important in the development of the ability to record and interpret sounds, an activity that children will surely enjoy is that they read a story to them as a rhyme, for example "a sad princess, eating birdseed", observe the rhyme of the words and you have to make them notice the children, in the story you play with the association of the words, the goal is for the child to recognize the words that rhyme, for example, sad rhymes with birdseed.

• Using music is another very entertaining and efficient method, with children's Rap music, this sub-genre combined with children's lyrics can easily show children where the rhyming words are found, the child can be asked to recognize words that rhyme they accompany the song applauding and saying aloud the letter in which it finishes the verse that rhymes.

Playing with the words and making the child recognize the sounds we can support and it will make the learning process easier in reading, which is one of the most difficult skills to develop in some children.
