Day 340-341- Calling all educators and students!

@steemiteducation homework for the week

Topic

To discuss

A sound partnership between schools, business and industry has a number of benefits for all partners. Discuss the benefits and/or disadvantages that this venture is beneficial to the learner and the school

A school can be regarded as a business venture but with high regard to ethics. A school is a noble venture which helps
mold the future generation and helps in the preservation and proper continuation of civilized society.

A school cannot, however, be run on morals alone. Funds are needed to pay teachers, provide facilities for the children, provide facilities in the school that benefits both staff and students and also ensures the holistic development of the children.

In many parts of the world, religious institutions build schools and ensure that it runs smoothly. The government-run schools also provide education at a cheaper cost. However, lack of funds results in poor facilities and cramping of students with different abilities inside the classrooms.

Case study

My neighbor's daughter is mentally challenged. We had adviced the parents to admit the child to a special school. Even though it was a bit far off, they would have provided conveyance. The mother of the child did not listen to anyone and admitted her child to the local village school. Everything went well on the first day. The next day, the child showed violent behavior and started hurting her classmates. The parents were called upon and the child was given T.C. The mother took her to another school and the same incident occurred. She has still not sent her daughter to a special school and is now homeschooling her. She is not very educated herself and so, I felt that she is, in fact, hindering the progress of the child. A special school would have helped train the child and made her better equipped and skilled in some trade according to her abilities.

There are pros and cons to businesses and industries getting involved with the education sector. In my opinion, schools could do better with extra funds. Businesses can also help bring a corporate touch and polish the students. The funds could help segregate students based on abilities and thus ensure maximum competency.

Pros

  • Increased funds
  • Exposure to the outside world
  • Competent teaching staff who will be paid handsomely
  • Better facilities
  • Return for money

Cons

  • Increased fee amounts
  • Less of interaction with other students with different levels of abilities
  • Classified as a student of a particular group and thus losing self-confidence
  • Increased fee amount

There are positive and negatives to such a venture but in my opinion, it would be beneficial to all in the long run.

Education makes us real human, otherwise we do what other animals do. It is the responsibility of the government to provide education to every children but unfortunately even after 70 years since independence, India could not provide education to its every citizen. Fund is the main problem but the lack of dedication of government officials is the main reason of this state of education. This has given private players to open schools where they loot parents of children and don't pay enough to the teaching staff there. This should be changed.

so true. Most of the funds set apart for education in India is not properly uitilised at all. MAny schools in my state face closure because of dilapidated conditions. if only, the govt. spend more money on infrastructure and even then, I think the people have to change their mindset and donate more towards such govt. schools rather than spending huge amounts on Private game clubs which is the fashion these days.
People like Sachin and others can give back to the country at least now instead of spending it on clubs. thank you for your meaningful comment

In fact government schools are deliberately being destroyed so that the poor may remain uneducated and rich may flourish. Government has a lot of fund. There is education cess over income tax. What is the outcome of that fund raising? Nothing, because private schools are run by politicians close relatives. They don't like government schools to perform well. A government school teacher earns more than 40k when he starts his job. His salary increases every year but outcome is nil.
In private schools parents are looted in the name of fees, dress, books etc. while teachers get only around 2k per month. Children are forced to take so much heavy load on their backs. Tuition has become compulsory. What is the use of schools then?
This is very disturbing scenario in present day India. Education is being destroyed.

so true. what an irony. Govt. teachers get paid high while students suffer and in private schools, students perform while teachers suffer. In the school where teachers are paid high, then the parents have to bear the burden of high fees. More ridiculous is the situation where parents like my bil paid 3. something lakhs for IIT coaching per year. what a pity

This is the saddest thing in our country.
