Since doing the post about Emigration/Immigration/Migration, I decided to make post about confusing English Words.

Let's look at advise.

Advise is according to the Cambridge Dictionary a verb. It means providing another individual with suggestions on the best course of action.

Eg. I advise you to rather use your blue pencil than your green one.

Let's look at advice.

Advice is a noun. It is the opinion or recommendation given to the person on a specific matter.

Eg. Thank you, I will act on your advice.

Let's take a look at compliment

Compliment means giving a polite expression of praise or admiration

Eg. You are an amazing runner.

Let's look at complement.

Complement is a word or a group of words that completes the meaning of a verb. Like when different tastes of food works together, the complement each other, or when the color of a dress and necklace works together, the complement each other.

Eg. I went to the shop today to find something that works with this piece of veal. It took me quite sometime but I think I finally found spices, a sauce and some sides that would definitely complement the veal.

Conclusion

I know that these two words might seem totally insignificant but even the smallest of letters can change the meaning of the words. Like the s/c in advise or advice and the i/e in complement or compliment. Make sure that when you use any of these variations that you use it correctly.
