Do it on your own!

As the school time is just about to end, my students have started asking me what they should do not to lose their language skills. When they ask about it, they don't forget to add that the activity which I would suggest must be both educative and interesting. As an English teacher, one of the activities that I suggest my students to do is travelling which can help them to experience lots of things at the same time.

When they hear that they should do it on their own, they give some reactions which show the state of surprise and fear. Even though traveling alone sounds scary, it is surely one of the best ways of improving our language skills. As the person who is going on a solo adventure needs to communicate with others, he or she will be forced to speak. By doing this, the person will have to speak the language naturally.

Be like a local!

My students are usually young. They are usually between 15 and 25, so they are still open to new experiences. When I tell them to travel on their own, they find the chances of improving their language skills and exploring themselves at the same time. I suggest them to meet as many local as possible so that they can be forced to talk to locals more and consequently they can practice their language skills thanks to them.

As they are university and high schools students, it is crucial to balance their budget. In addition to improving their language skills, getting in contact with locals or staying at their place can help them to overcome their financial problems. Even though it is bit a dangerous to do that, it can be done easily when there are some good contacts that we can trust. Personally, I did it a lot when I was young.

Do something for the world!

It can be a good idea to combine your traveling with other useful thing. Learning a language and improving yourself in all aspects needs more and more practice. I recommend my young students who are curious and open to new things in live to do something for the communities where they are planning to travel. Volunteering for people in the place that they are traveling can be good for them and others.

Volunteering is an amazing thing which can help students to get better at everything. When we consider about learning a language, they can get a chance to improve the skills of the language they are learning. If they are in a completely different country where people speak their own language, they can also learn that language. In any case, volunteering is great to learn a language. You can also recommend this to your students.

Write a blog, maybe on Steemit!

Traveling means learning a new language and improving it by getting in contact with locals. However, that is not all about it. It is possible to link it with other skills of a language. I recommend my students to write a blog or join Steemit to share their experiences. When they want to share experiences to the world, they know that they should write it in English which is a way of improving their language skills.

As you can read so far, it is possible to improve our language skills by traveling. Many people are afraid of leaving their comfort zones, but it gives us lots of chances to improve us in learning a new language. If your students are in need of recommendations, you might share these tips with them and maybe encourage them to go on their education adventure this summer.

Education

This post is all based on my experiences since I am all the time busy with my students in our language school. My students are always in need of advice to get better at English and I hope that many of them will go on an adventure this summer and get better at English.

As a proud member of @Sndbox, I support @steemiteducation community since they work a lot to help people who put effort in creating valuable contents on Steemit platform. Everyone is welcome to have a look at @steemiteducation page and educate all people! Thanks for reading.

Leaving our comfort zone will help us to be stronger people in many apesctos, besides discovering a new world full of many things that we did not know before. We must not be afraid of changes or new experiences. I find it excellent that you motivate your students in this way.

Thank you so much, I am trying my best to help them!

When there is no exit from our comfort zone, it is very possible that we will not discover what we are capable of doing and achieving.

I agree with you. If you want to broaden your mind, just go out of your comfort zone!
