#SteemitIslandDiscs - What would you take if you were castaway on Steemit Island ?
Desert Island Discs is a radio show broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and has run continuously since its first episode was broadcast in January 1942.
Guests are invited to imagine themselves cast away on a desert island, and choose eight recordings, originally gramophone records, to take with them; discussion of their choices permits a review of their life. Excerpts from their choices are played or, in the case of short pieces, the whole work. At the end of the programme they choose the one piece they regard most highly. Guests are also automatically given the Complete Works of Shakespeare and can choose either the Bible or another appropriate religious or philosophical work. They are then prompted to select a third book to accompany them.
Guests also choose one luxury, which must be inanimate and of no use in escaping the island or allowing communication from outside.
So, I thought this was maybe a good way to get to know each other a little better if we all wrote a little about our choices and the memories attached to them and also an idea for some interesting posts for those who have run out of ideas of what to write about!
The slightly amended rules are as follows:-
- Choose 5 audio recordings, could be spoken word as well as music.
- Choose 2 books, one fiction and one non-fiction.
- Choose one piece of art of your choosing
- Choose 1 luxury inanimate item. No smartphones or communication devices or boats!
- Nominate 3 people to take the challenge.

Ah, nice! I'm dreaming already... Will really try to join this week but since I've been neglecting my blog due to a deadline I feel like I'm sooo behind and have about 5 blog posts to write according to my overactive brain :-) Curious to read your own entry as well! ;-)
Its OK, it was just an idea for people who get stuck for something to write about or share, or who simply aren't superstar bloggers or content creators.....like me lol
Stick it in the back of your mind for a time when maybe you're kicking your heels and less busy!
