SteemitMamas My Testimony for Curie's Community Building Support
SteemitMamas is applying for @curie’s community building support, and here is my testimony in support of that effort.
I have only been with @steemitmamas for just over a month and I am so glad to be here. I have been posting on steemit since June 2017, so I feel like I know a few things about what works and what does not here. Unlike some of the places I “belong” to on steemit, @steemitmamas is truly a community.
I am a mom separated from her son by thousands of miles and do not have much support in times of trouble, sadness, and loneliness.
Personal Support
Since joining steemitmamas, I do now have a place in our discord channel where other moms understand my hopes and fears without me having to completely make sense about them. People who are not parents do not want to hear this stuff anyway, so I have a safe place to vent.
I’m not alone with this issue and see other moms posting about similar things. We can share the joys and the sorrows of our family life and get absolutely amazing support.
Steemit Support
Aside from the personal issues, this group has the best system I have seen to support each other on our steemit posts. Many of my other groups seem to drop links and run. @steemitmamas has a place to let others know where you voted and commented on with an honor system. We do not drop our links without voting and commenting for others first.
This is not a tit-for-tat system. We do not need to vote for or comment for the same person who voted for us. Instead we interact with any @steemitmamas post that draws our attention. I appreciate this freedom so much and have made this a rewarding and satisfying part of my steemit day.
Prompts to help us post on steemit
Finally, we have a challenge going on to post on some interesting topic in the seven days after it is announced. I do these when I have something to say on this topic and enjoy reading the other whether I posted for it or not. I really appreciate the seven day window so I have time to determine what to say and do a worthy post.
In Conclusion
I am sure I am missing some great points about this group. But these are the first three things that came to mind and for them I am very grateful. I hope @curie will see fit to support @steemitmamas, but I will stay here no matter what.

Thank you so much! San Diego and Kuala Lumpur are about as far apart as possible; this is very true! Steemitmamas really help me get through this situation with a better attitude. I'm so glad to see you here and look forward to your next excursion :)
