Steemitville Odyssey - The Beginning

It was a beautiful day in SteemitVille and the mamas were out and about showing off their awesomeness around the city. @squirellyma and @violetjoy were playing by the pond surrounded by children’s books and sunshine, while @mumma-monza ran around in her squirrel suit jumping for joy. She circled @philippekiene over and over yelling: “Nana nana boo boo, you can’t get here.” She was of course referring to the retreat the Mama Llamas had set up for the fellow mamas in SteemitVille.

It was a great land filled with abundance and joy, and love and support. There was always something fun for the kids to do, lots of good books to read, quiet space to write, delicious drinks, fresh fruit and salads and for the naughty mamas (who were also loved and welcome) pineapple beer. Whether you needed a friend, a nap, a writing idea, or a baby-sitter, the center provided all. Everything was perfect. Well, almost everything.

Two of the Llama Mamas @metzli and @alimamasstory could be seen whispering in the corners. @metzli was relieved to finally confide in her friend. She took off her hoodie, and revealed her bump. A single horn was growing right in the middle of her forehead, and she swore that when she sneezed, it sprouted glitter.

“I have one, too.” @alimamasstory responded.

"Let's find the others to see if they are experiencing the same," @metzli suggested. *"Now where can they be?" *

"I think they could be hanging out at the bar," @alimamasstory took a wild guess. "I'm loving this little thing on my head, looks like we are evolving!"

In the meantime, @happycrazycon was freaked out with what she was seeing in the mirror. She thought it was an acne just before this, hence she had tried all the tea tree oil and acne cream but nothing seemed to help. Worse now, it started to itch and it got a little pointy.

What is happening to me? she panicked and hurried her way out to the centre of Steemitville too, wearing the biggest hat she could find.

On her way there, she passed by group of ladies. @kaeperdiem, @viverridae and @ladylei. They were having fun, laughing till tears were running down their cheeks. They were talking about the Llama song and laughing about it. @happycrazycon wished she could stop to say hi and perhaps a good laugh with them could lift her up. But she didn't. She just needed to find her fellow moderator friends to know what's going on.

Reaching the bar, she saw @khimgoh, @crosheille, @metzli and @alimamasstory were already there. The song was playing, "Llama, llama, shining, shining, looking like a diamond, diamond Llama, llama, shining, shining, looking like a diamond, diamond..."

They were all touching their own foreheads and each other's.

"Hey, so I'm not alone in this!" @happycrazycon finally reached the company as she joined in.

Everyone started laughing. The harder they laughed, the more glitter shot up into the air!

"Look, we have different glitter colours! This is amazing, I can't wait to show my baby unicorn," @crosheille pointed out a good point.

"Hey you girls seem to be taking this pretty well? I was freaking out earlier." @happycrazycon said to the group. @crosheille replied, "Well, whatever is happening to us seems to be making us extra happy! Especially when we laugh all this glitter comes off! Hey mine is blue! What colour is yours?"

"Mine is purple!" quipped @alimamasstory. They all laughed again and multi coloured glitter filled the bar.

Suddenly, they all heard a commotion outside! @squishysquid ran screaming into the bar with her special BareFoot Minimalist sandals that looked just fabulous on her, "@steemmonsters!!" She couldn't seem to continue and they were all bewildered?

Steem Monsters here in SteemitVille? "What are they?" asked @metzli. Catching her breath she quickly told everyone how @crowbarmama had been auditioning for the Steem Monsters games and all of a sudden, they all seem to have come alive and are roaming around Steemitville at the moment.

"The children!" @alimamasstory and @khimgoh shouted in unison with a look of horror on their faces. Earlier that day, everyone had dropped their children off at a special workshop themed "Knowing Our Universe" with @saracampero. They would learn all about the planets, stars and generally about the Milky Way! The kids were all excited and had been waiting for this workshop because they could make their own little model of the Milky Way universe. It was on the other side of town though and everyone started to worry if the children were alright.

Across town by as picturesque little stream, sat @orangina with her beautiful newborn. @startreat, @frejafri and @lymepoet were visiting to congratulate on the recent addition to her family. @frejafri had made a beautiful bench from an old bed frame for @orangina as a gift to enjoy sitting by her beautiful stream with her newbown. @startreat was telling her stories of how grateful she was for being able to enjoy house sitting for a friend who had a really beautiful place. @orangina was so happy and relaxed with all her friends.

"This is what living in a beautiful community is like," she thought. We help and share genuine friendship with each other. Life would be too difficult to do alone and @lymepoet who had recently moved to Steemitville was just chatting with her about how people were strangers not so long ago have now become kindred spirits. "Did you know that @sheryniel is going to have a little boy soon? They found out the gender a few days ago." @frejari said keeping her updated.

Suddenly, a piercing cry broke the peaceful silence and made everyone's hair stand on end. A loud roar of a motorcycle engine could be heard coming nearer towards them. As the motorcycle turned around the corner they saw @mumma-monza with @solarsupermama riding pillion. They both drew to a screeching stop and jumped off hardly waiting for the motorcycle to come to a dead stop, then started running toward them mouthing something that no one could hear.

Finally as they got closer everyone heard them screaming “@steemmonsters found our children!”

Immediately all of the mamas of SteemitVille gathered together to go rescue their children from the workshop. They figured they needed a plan to rescue them safely and successfully.

Thank goodness @canadian-coconut who is experienced with @familyprotection just recently moved to SteemitVille. She began sharing her knowledge on how to rescue the children from these monsters. She suggested @corrielaine go grab her horses from the farm for extra riding power, @arrliinn to call up the Malapitan family for backup, @khackett, @lovenfreedom and @esttyb to bake up some yummy treats for distracting the monsters and @vincy take photographs for evidence.

Meanwhile the #NeedleWorkMonday crew had a plan of their own. Every Monday they got together to share their lovely creative talents and to inspire one another with the work of their hands. Together @apanamamama, @carolinacardoza, @fiberfrau, @mtnmeadowmomma, @sweetpea, @metzli and @crosheille decided to quilt, crochet and knit some protective armor for the mamas as they battle against @steemmonsters. These mamas worked so fast and had enough materials on hand that there was plenty of armor for the entire town.

After everyone did their part the mamas were ready to go and get their children back. As they approached the workshop area...

Dead silence.

A sudden breeze swept through the sweaty brows of the band of mamas ready with their weapons big and small as they inched in toward the workshop. “Where could they be? Are they safe?”

So many questions left unanswered.

@iamjadeline suddenly had a hunch that they might be at the nearby field, it’s where her boys would play with their little friends. “Let’s check it out, ladies?” Off they went.

As they passed through a little garden, @crazymum spotted a little ladybug minding its own business and her heart beamed, “they’re gon’ be alright, I just know it.” Whispered her steady heart.

@iamjadeline was right, from a distance you could see little human beings running across the field, some screaming, some were dancing, some laughing… Wait, what?! They seemed to be having fun! The mamas were confused by the sight but kept their guards up nonetheless, trying hard to spot any Steem Monsters in sight.

@clareleesl screamed from the field, “hey mamas, over here!” while @wildwanderer waved fiercely at them, signalling them to come over. @esdee was there, too. Following their directions, they moved forward to find an increasingly familiar beat. This sounds familiar, @metzli thought. That’s it, I was just playing this on the music bot the other day!

You heard it right, it was the infamous “Macarena”! The mamas gasped as they watched @evero, @dianacatalina, @lasocia, @melvadg, @litzney led the dance and bailar with such passion and grace! And the Steem Monsters? They were dancing to the beat of the music, too! And the kiddos loved them! They were tiny little cute monsters that had cute big eyes and fluffy cheeks, it was such a sight to behold!

@temitopebanks held her baby and danced along with @hippiemamalaino, while @nikema was seen on facetime with @trucklife-family, making sure she wasn’t missing out on all the peculiar fun!

@khimgoh dropped her armor and looked at the band of mamas behind her with bewildered eyes and a big grin on her face exclaiming, “Mamas, let’s join ‘em!” And in an instant, her pointy forehead magically sprouted into a beautiful flower! The rest of the mamas excitedly dropped their weapons and ran to their children. Some jumped around while a couple of them laughed and danced like they had two left feet, all singing along!

“Dale a tu cuerpo alegría Macarena,
Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle alegría why cosa Buena,
Dale a tu cuerpo alegría Macarena,
Hey Macarena!”

Colorful glitters and boisterous laughter filled the air, and as the music played, @mumma-monza was seen holding a glittering red tassel with her head bowed low, “where could the other one be?” searching frantically as she mumbled under her breath. Lo and behold, @philippekiene stood from a far distance grinning from ear to ear with his hand held high, dangling what seemed to be the other pair of the missing tassel.

All was right with the world again in the beautiful place called SteemitVille.
