Write Along Day 3, Challenge 2, Play a Song On Our Discord Bot

Hi Mamas!

For Day 3 write-along we are interacting on our Discord

@khimgoh decided to include a radio on our discord so that Mama's could play songs for each other or have a radio with background music while we did our online work. The only "problem" was that the bot was a no chat zone, and the mamas are a bunch of chatterboxes. She solved our dilemma by putting a chat room right next to the radio so we can play music for each other and chat.

Now we have a whole section dedicated to playing music and chatting about it.

For today's challenge, go to the bot section of our discord and play a song for us. Choose any song you like, and if you can't choose just one, then play 10. We have Seven Days to complete this challenge, Im sure there's enough time for us all to play lots and lots of music. For extra credit, write a post telling us what song you played on discord, and why the song is so awesome

Here are instructions on how to use the bot:

Find this area of our discord server and pay attention to the carrot. It has to be pointing down in order to see the bot.

Tap on "listen-to-your-songs" this will log you in.

If your name and face shows up under "listen to your songs" then you are ready to play. This is also when you can see who else is on the radio. If other Mama's are using it, you should see their beautiful faces or bitmoji's.

You use !!! to give commands to the bot.

!!!play
!!!choose
!!!stop
!!!skip

Those are the commands I know. You can !!!play (enter the name of an artist) !!!play (enter the name of a song) !!!play (enter the name of an album.

I asked the bot to !!!play Selena, and the bot gave me some Selena choices to play with.

I decided I liked number 1 so I used the command !!!choose 1.

And then I enjoyed some Selena.

But what if you need to stop the radio?

Use the command !!!stop and the bot will stop playing music.

This particular command is necessary to remember. There will be times when @khimgoh gets curious about what the LLama Song is, and she might just play it at work.

So remember:

!!!stop

And if you get curious to what Im talking about:

The song has bad words. Which I guess is something we should be mindful of, since we are moms and we do have kids. When its you alone using the bot, have at it, when there are guests, make sure to go in the bar and see what kind of party there is going on before blasting some profanity.

Remember to use !!!skip if you want to skip a song you chose, but don't want to stop the whole queue.

The Bar after all can be a coffee bar, or a dessert bar too...

If you have been using the radio, and don't want your computer to all of a sudden start blasting some random Espinosa Paz, them please make sure to log back out at the end of your session.

That is worth writing again. Your computer WILL start blasting Chinese American Idol Winners at 3am in the morning if you don't.

Today's challenge is to play a song for the mama's on the radio. Also remember, your extra credit is to write a post about the song you played for us and tell us why its so awesome.
