100 DAYS OF POETRY: DAY 94 - apocalyptic nap
apocalyptic nap
By Stephen Martin
do swarms ignite
the degree of flight
required to break free
the frenzy of hive mind
bloated with insufficiency
and bleeding
unending
the stoic among us
chartered for
departing trips
and memories like holy moments
are pried
from subtle
finger tips
don’t fret
the immortal among us
your souls
will carry on
the dreams of human kindness
will play
its broken song
and the record may skip
the needle may go dull
but the brazenness of living
can not sit
idle
or wait for the lost
to arrive in the bay
safely
a beacon is waiting
automated
rhythmic
sure

The light at the end of the tunnel. The awakening of eternal sleep. The safe crossing. Good writing, poet! A hug!
