DYSYOUTHOPIAN

wake up with a start
wave change to her brain
like a lake in the early morning
her features are placide and serene

his brown eyes seem deceptively
guileless
with the most deadpan expression
he’s ever had

her expression change from fear to worry
can’t ignore all the evidence
whole body tense, his reply is so loud
he can’t be a figment fo her imagination

she doesn’t really know who he is
giving him a puzzled look
frustation boiled over
she says with growing irritation

look around the room
heart still pounding from the dream
with unnatural suddenness
sleep steals their consciousness

wake up with a new start
wave change to his brain
