'Our Time'

What I am trying to articulate,
is how I really feel,
to paint this picture
that shows what is real.
To feed you no deception
to offer up only truth,
to delve deep
and express from the root.
This expression of devotion,
this dreaming up of
and creation of the notion,
that our connection to the world
is so much older
than what we had first known.
that in embracing this fact
all our knowledge has grown,
we carry our ancestors with us
we harbour all their pain
and joy
all their love, that they have sown,
we are the off shoots of their dreams,
the carriers of their ideals,
it is up to us to reach the extreme.
To become the ones
that will bring forth change
and harness all our power
so that we can rearrange
the systems that have fallen into place
but have no desire
to empower the human race.
Where will you stand?
will you listen to the calling
there is no time to be unsure
for our time is already dawning.
