Have you staked your SPORTS tokens yet??steemCreated with Sketch.

SportsTalkSocial.com is where the party's happening right now!

Whether you follow sports or not, it was always clear that what drives conversation and buzz are the topics which are inherently popular.

Realistically, the topic of sports inevitably has a place here in social media as a result of that natural fanaticism. And with the release of the Nitrous instance of SportsTalkSocial.com and the SPORTS token (which now trades on Steem-Engine.com), it is clear that this project was going to be a success from Day 1.

Is it too late to buy??

But today is not Day 1. Its Day somewhere-in-the-teens and the price of SPORTS continues to rise.

Whether or not its too late to buy naturally depends on your outlook of the community as a whole. If you believe the community can and will inherently grow, buying some SPORTS and reinvesting it (by staking it) makes absolute sense.

The funky thing about SPORTS relative to most of the new communities out there is its play on a highly inflationary token.

Now typically, this would be bad from an investment standpoint. And indeed it is if you just plan on holding your tokens. But practically speaking, it also means that the most long-term and most active members of the community are the ones which will be rising to the top of the whale list. Why? Because in order to retain a meaningful stake you need to consistently stake more in order to maintain your influence in the community.

Good luck trying to be a whale if you're not an active participant!

Well wait a minute. That actually makes a ton of sense from a growth perspective. Communities thrive on constant activity and a highly inflationary environment can actually ensure that activity grows.

For a moment, I was actually a bit surprised when I saw that SportsTalkSocial was actually promoting link-dropping via its new SportsTube:
https://www.sportstalksocial.com/sportstalk/@sportstalksocial/announcing-sportstube-earn-sports-for-sharing-videos

But the more I thought about it, there's really not too much wrong when it comes to video spamming on this platform. After all, the nature of sports media is highly engrained with a large variety of constant activity. I expect there will be quite a lot of content spamming on this platform. But is that really so bad when it comes to sports? (Watch my stance here will bite me in the ass later for saying it.)

Thats like complaining about spamming on a site dedicated to useless cat videos. Perhaps the bar is just a little lower in a community accustomed to spammed content.

The crazy thing is SPORTS has a market cap in excess of STEEM itself. Currently it's at $278 million, versus the $110 million STEEM is.

Wait a minute. Is that sustainable? Arguably, it depends on how active a sports-centric community remains in light of a highly inflationary token supply. In order to maintain influence, more and more is needed. Those that fall behind need more to keep up.

So is it too late to buy some SPORTS to get your influence rolling?? Probably not. Just stay active. It'll be a rat race, but any high level of interaction on this platform is likely to be rewarded ultimately due to the nature of its high inflation rate.

Just my subjective opinion.
