It's about time to set some more @steemmonsters cards on fire, sorry android lovers!
A few weeks ago, @jrvacation started setting some of his cards alight (by gifting them to @null), and encouraged us to do the same. In his most recent update, he estimates that around 2000 cards, worth $40 have been burned.
Why burn?
- We got a lotta cards!
- Reducing supply could potentially increase the value of the cards being burned
- A chance of an up-vote - greater than the return you would get when selling your cards!

106 Rusty Android base cards is hopefully in-keeping with the new burn cost requirement.
In my last burn-post, there was actually some appreciation for the card in the comments, but yeah, I'm not a fan. I've used it a few times, but seem to want to play it on rounds where the opponent is not using a mainly magic attack cards, and when that's the case it just looks over priced as far as mana.
Saying that though, I do now own a maxed out Rusty Android, just in case the devs decide to adjust the stats for the card, and actually make it a bit more playable.
Game update
This season has been my best for a while, and I've just recently reach 'Gold 1'.
There is still a day or so to go, and a chance to pick up a few more reward cards before the new season begins. I have to say that I think I've been rather unlucky with the reward card prizes in recent seasons, and I'll be looking out for a nice gold/legendary this time (please!).
Over the past couple weeks I have been buying the odd card and trying to bring up a couple of splinters to a reasonable level. When I first starting playing @steemmonsters, I spent most of my STEEM on fire splinter foil cards. They do look nice and shiny, but foils are pretty expensive compared to the normal cards, which outside of tournament entry possibilities, seem to do the same thing. I also leveled up 'Selenia Sky' to the max, which of course has no use when trying to collect the daily quest cards.
Recently, I've focused a little more on the the Earth splinter, leveling up the summoner 'Lyanna Natura' and 'Flesh Golem', who i've found to be a pretty solid tank - even at level 5.
I'm still nowhere in the overall table compared to the end of last year, I think my highest ranking was 50-60 - Champion League! Since then though, my investment has been small (yeah food took priority), and so a ranking like that at the end of a season in the future is unlikely, for now.

I had no idea you were down at my lowly level - I made gold 1 this season, almost hit diamond a few days ago, although I wasn't aiming for that particularly - I just play til i get my five wins for the daily reward and then stop - but then I had a massive losing streak and ended up right down at the bottom of gold one.
I had a look last night and decided I couldn't be arsed playing 300 points worth of games for the sake of 10 reward cards.
On the burn strategy someone commented on my first and probably only burn post that there's some kind of token coming which you can convert unwanted cards into?
On the basis of the comments I've concluded it's best not to burn.. it's the kind of thing you want everyone else to be doing!
So cheers for increasing the value of my cards.

I'm also a bit lazy with the reward cards seeking, although have ground a few out recently.
RE: The burn, the up-vote here is worth more than the cards I sold. So in theory, I could go buy them all again, plus a few more ;)

I did kind of enjoy doing it, maybe we could have some fun with it and try and turn the Droid into a $1 card?!?

I'm having a really hard time getting to Gold I this season. I've probably left it too late now as I keep getting matched against Level 5 summoners and up. Never say never though.
I really cocked up this afternoon. I had a level 3 and level 4 Gold Zintar and was intending to move the Level 4 to my GP account but I combined them by mistake. How bloody dumb! 😢
Now I have 1 Level 4 that is one card short of a Level 5. No way am I going to spend $9 on another card. What a waste. Grrrrrr.
Anyhoo. Congrats on getting to Gold I. Are you going to go for diamond. That would be a nice big jump in reward cards for you. 😊
I am back in Mallorca, for a few weeks at least. The agency rang me today and said it would be 3/4 months at least before the role became available again. So I'll be looking in the UK, whilst they look around also.
DOH on the card combine, are you sure that 1 more card wont help? :)
I might play a bit this evening and see what happens - diamond would be nice!

No that's the annoying thing. If I paid $9 for the gold zintar I could level up a few commons to a level that could take advantage of a level 5 summoner but I would have to buy more cards on top of that to level up the rares etc. That's why I'm so annoyed with myself. In effect I've lost a level 4 summoner.
Not a big deal for a lot of people I suppose but it is to me as I only have 2 at that level.
I'll get over it. 😂
:( Well hopefully in the future as your other cards are leveled up, you'll feel the need to upgrade the summoner too.

That poor Rust never getting any respect LOL ...
When I ran a little experiment (on a limited deck) I found he was the key to beating those pain in the rear life bots. The reflect it gets helps with killing the healer card.
Ahh, yeah that could work. The life splinter is a pretty tough to beat for my deck. I shall remember that :)
Always counter Life with a lot of magic. Only way to beat it, IMO :0)

Season have definitely become tougher! I am still hesitant to burb cards as the team will like make changes to improve its usability as their intent is for users to use cards. I am struggling to staybin Diamond but that is a great place to be these days.

I would be very satisfied with a Diamond finish this season and might push for it this evening.
Hufftt... I've stucked on gold 3 for a week but finally got to gold 2 after dozens lost against level 4+ summies (mine is level 3) I think that I won't waste my time to reach gold 1 😂 the rewards never so nice even for the higher level cards.. better stick with level 1 to collect some unicorn for collection.

Unicorn is the life splinter's legendary monster, it's been there since season 6 part of 20 new cards (the new summoners not counts😆)

Funny, I just faced that card. Looks a bit crap tbh :)
It depends on which level the card is, and what the ruleset is... It can be a really mean card to beat. But I'm no expert on the Life splinter, to say the least. I don't think I played it more than 4 times this year, lol.
I don't play it at all, that and the death splinter are my weakest and I have no idea how to play them :)

Death is ok - but the higher the level, the weaker the splinter is. I simply never liked Life. I like the looks of the Unicorn card, so I tried a couple of times, but in spite of the fact that it is one of the strongest splinters, I can't seem to get it right...
