Today we will talk about a game that is causing a lot of hype in the Steem community, its called Steem Monsters. In other opportunities i have made posts about the game but i haven’t done so after it was launched. Yes, in the case you didn’t know, you can play the game already. I must confess that is 2:07 a.m. as i am writing this; the truth is, inspiration may come at the most unexplainable times.

I have said before that SteemMonsters is a game made by the witnesses @Aggroed and @Yabapmatt, in which, the principal objective is to maintain and improve the interaction among users in the steemit platform. This objective has been more than successfully achieved; you may find users you have recently met, as you might even battle against whales or witnesses of this platform.

But now i guess you have that question;

What is the hype about?

What do people love about it?

To be able to play you need to invest 10$ first on the Starter Pack, the site gives you the option to pay with Steem, SBD, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash, Monero and Dash; even, if you don’t have the Steemit account, you are able to get an account by directly buying the starter pack so you are ready to play. Just like we were younger and we got the Panini album and its collectible stickers, or like the Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Games!, those cards that made your excited children drive you crazy, or made you drive your parents crazy.

In short, you need the initial investment in the Starter Pack that comes with 30 randomly selected cards but that meet the requirements to make you able to play with every splinter, so you are able to try each splinter and find the most suitable or comfortable for you.

The Starter Pack brings 5 summoners, 4 cards of each splinter, and 5 neutral (no particular splinter) cards.

Once you got your starter pack, you can start and explore the game. Until now, you have 2 playable modes; you can fight your way up the ratings until the season is over, which has a duration of 15 days, and depending on the rating you have when the season is over, you will win Booster Packs. Remember that the Booster Packs contain 5 random cards, and you can get it buying it in the site, via contests or giveaways and the rewards in game.

Now here is a table which each rating range and its reward at the end of the season.

On the other hand, besides fighting in order to achieve the highest rating, there are daily quest that you could do in order to win one (1) Booster Pack each 24 hours, these daily quest are just requirements to win under certain circumstances, or using a particular splinter.

Alright, now to the most important part.

The “how to play”, it is something i’m still learning and experimenting on, i do see that if not all, most of the content is in english, and if not, leave a comment with a link to those posts, but you can see my contribution clicking on this link here; my dear @the01crow will be doing guides soon. I’m still learning and it will take some work to make a guide to explain. With your Starter Pack you start the game with level 1 cards, in order to level them up, you will need to combine, fusion or merge (its the same),more than one of the same card, so if you are facing an opponent with 4 level 5 cards and yours are level 1, you will have to level them up in order to be able to win.

Besides buying the starter pack that is valued 10$, which you can buy only once, after that you are able to buy Booster Packs for 2$ which contain 5 cards, or you could also join the market on the site, where players like you and i, put on sale their cards, or find the cards they want. For example, i sold the cards i didn’t want, and then i invested the money i got, on leveling up the cards i already have.

The most interesting part in this is that, every day you have a chance to earn 5 random cards, and depending on the rating you get, you could earn a lot more cards, without taking into account those contests and giveaways you can easily find in the communities discord servers or posts.

As an example: if i finish all my daily quests during 15 days, and also i reached 2800+ rating (which gives me 10 Booster Packs); in 15 days i got 25 Booster Packs; which would mean 125 random cards. If i wanted to buy that amount of cards, that would mean 50$ i made, by just playing the game.

Alright, but… why is it so important?

Because of this:

That 1999 is not the year your child was born, thats the lowest usd price the card was worth, the numbers on the left side are the lowest price, while the ones on the right the highest price. That depends on the quality and rarity of the card.

So you have 125 chances to get, for example, a card that has a market price of 3299 usd. Of course, this is no that easy, and if you wanna be sure of your chances to get a high price card, you would need a deep statistical analysis, as every card has a set probability chance to appear from a pack. You could invest 100$ and may return 50$ selling the cards you got, or you may level up your own cards in order to reach a higher rating and earn more booster packs.

We said before: It is amazing that you can get income by just writing on a blog, commenting and upvoting in a simple way; “Money talks”.

Now we say: It is amazing that besides writing, i could earn money by just playing cards on a blockchain.

There is something fun in all of this, and it is that, many kids will make their parents go crazy to play SteemMonsters.
