General Caleon - Asherah's Tavern (continuation of Selenia Sky story)

Story below is a continuation of General Caleon's tale, a fiction writing inspired by @steemmonsters. The story began with Selenia Sky - Her world, her love, her story, and so far, I am only inspired to write fiction when continuing this storyline.

My few fans know that music is my inspiration. I couldn't find a song that inspired the story (which could explain the length of time in between releases). I will share the song I was listening to while writing. Perhaps the words influenced the writing in some ways.

Jamie Scott - Unbreakable

When you lose your way and the fight is gone
Your heart starts to break
And you need someone around now
Just close your eyes while I put my arms above you
And make you unbreakable

Part One of General Caleon's story:

I know some of you want to journey on the adventure with Selenia Sky and Adelaine, the Dragon Queen, but my creative mind wants to introduce another character to the story. Meet General Caleon! There is a part two for Caleon's story which will come out in a few days 🙄. It will pick up with that memory from the tavern...might not be rated PG....

Asherah's Tavern

The sweet and exotic floral essences of tuberose flowers wafted in the air as the tavern door closed. Caleon turned his attention away from his comrades at the table to the two maidens at the other side of the dim-lighted tavern. He had noticed them entering the tavern, but had spared them no more than a second's glance. In the flickering light casted from the candles and hearth, the faces of the maidens were mere shadows behind their fur-lined hoods.

Dressed in rich sable cloaks, Caleon knew exactly what type of fun these merchants’ daughters were seeking for the night. In times past, the maidens had not hesitated to let him know exactly why they came to the tavern. Their ostentatious behavior would put any of the whores at the Bard’s Inn to shame. Confident and bold they were; indeed, these were qualities he liked in his women. On the rare instances he left with a willing partner, Caleon made sure to have it known that it was to be one night of seeking pleasure in each other’s body. No more offered, no more given. Some did not hold his words to be true and threw childish tantrums when he left. He recalled one with a voluptuous figure and pouty rouged lip. What she favored in looks, she had lacked in depth and substance. They all carried the same tune.

His mind drifted to one woman and one alone that stirred his loins and intrigued his mind. He knew she would not be found in a tavern on the west side of town, yet, yet, the intoxicating aroma was all too familiar. The scented fragrance invoked memories of soaring in the sky with the sweet smell of fresh tuberose flowers swirling in the currents of the mountain air. He flew countless times with the princess to know her scent by heart.

Turning back to his comrades, he saw his First Lieutenant was now singing a raunchy melody about the Maiden and the Dragon King. Laughter erupted around the table. His instincts as General of the Legion could not be quieted, not even in his time of leisure, but Caleon had enjoyed the light hearted laughter with his men. It eased the tension that had been building in him in the last weeks. They were to leave in the morning for the North. The men would spend a fortnight away from the kingdom, their family and friends, their home. His men needed this night off.

Not wanting to interrupt the story, Caleon slid out of his chair and casually made his way to the dim-lighted side of the room. An outsider watching his leisure walk across the room could never fathom the fury stirring within. He was ever the cool and collective general to prying eyes. A select few would have known. Prince Allanthe, his childhood friend and brother, would have flashed his devilish grin and mockingly said, “The poor soul to have attracted the attention of the mighty General Caleon.” In times past, Prince Allanthe had crossed his arms, a broad smile plastered on his face, and patiently waited for the entertainment that had surely ensued. Allanthe would understand his fury this time around, Caleon thought. Being a protective brother, Allanthe would surely be just as upset knowing Adelaine was out this late at night, unchaperoned and unguarded. At a tavern of all places.

Caleon approached the table as the two maidens discarded their sable cloaks. The tall beauty with hazel eyes and raven-colored hair turned and their eyes met. Chin held high and her heart-shaped lips set into the language of defiance, Princess Adelaine stared boldly at General Caleon.

“Tell my men sitting at the corner that I ask for one of them to escort you home”, Caleon seethe at Adelaine’s companion. The maiden scrambled out of her seat, and without breaking eye contact with Adelaine, he knew she would approach his men and do exactly as told.

The scent of tuberose flowers grew heavier in the air around them. The staring war would continue all night if Caleon let it. He knew how stubborn and defiant Adelaine could be at times. Casually, Caleon walked towards Adelaine and without stopping, lifted her off the ground by her waist and carried her out the side door that led to the garden. The moon shone brightly in the night sky. The gentle breeze was welcoming to the sweltering heat inside.

“Put me down you barbaric loon! You have no right to carry me away as if I’m some prized doe.”

Caleon felt a sharp kick at his thigh. Had it been aimed toward the middle.. He didn’t want to imagine that grueling pain. A maple tree stood at the edge of the garden. He placed Adelaine upright by the tree and moved to the side just as a right hook came hurling at his face. Caleon grabbed Adelaine’s fist in his own and backed her toward the tree. He saw the left hook punch from the corner of his eye. Sky, she was relentless. He felt the impact reverberating in the free hand used to catch the blow. She sure knows how to pack a punch, he grimaced.

“Stop with the blows, princess. Remember who taught you how to fight. I know every act you plan on inflicting before you even think of them.”

“Is that so?”, Adelaine replied slyly. "Selenia showed me a move Allanthe had taught her for dealing with unreasonable men like you.” As she said the last word, Adelaine kicked Caleon squarely in between the legs.

“She was right. Men think themselves oh so mighty. They never think us girls would dare to kick them in their most prized area.”

Adelaine smirked as she saw Caleon grimace in pain. She had to hand it to him though. The pain must be excruciating, but he did not let loose his grip on her arms. She was held hostage against the tree with her hands held firmly above her head. She saw the pain subside from Caleon’s eyes as anger replaced it.

“You...don’t know…what you are asking..princess.”

The words were so quietly stated that Adelaine thought she misunderstood the words. “What is it that I am asking? You –"

Lips pressed roughly against her own. Momentarily shocked with the presence of Caleon so close, she stopped struggling against his firm grip. Adelaine breathed in his earthy scent and felt his body closeness. His arms above her no longer made her feel as if being held captive. Sensual feelings stirred within and her traitorous body responded with heated desire. This was no gentle kiss, but one wrought with passion and need.

Caleon felt her body relax and he loosened his grip on her fingers. Intertwining his fingers with hers, he gentled his kiss. Adelaine’s lips parted and seizing the moment, he teasingly parted her lips with the tip of his tongue. Never would he dream of such a moment with the princess of his heart. For years he had longed to kiss her, to feel her body close to his, but he had not dare to cross the line between friendship and lovers.

Letting go of her hand, he trailed his fingers along her cheekbone, following the path to her luxuriously silky hair. Grabbing a handful of her hair, he tilted her head back as he pressed her not so gently against the tree. He kissed the nape of her neck, trailing kisses downward to the round cusp of her heaving bosoms. He could feel her heart quickening. His own heartbeat quickened with desire. He reached to untie the ribbons on the bodice, looking up to seek permission from his princess. Adelaine’s beautiful face was captured in the moment of desire and passion, and green eyes looked down at him and gave consent. Caleon reached again for the ribbons….

Green eyes, green eyes -- wait…something wasn’t right. Adelaine’s eye color isn’t right. Her eyes are the tinted color of the hazelnut shell, not the foamy color of sea green waves.

Caleon shook his head, as if shaking off a spell. Their moment shared in the garden had not gone this far. They shared a passionate kiss, but no more. He had never reached for the ribbons to untie her bodice. What witchcraft is this!

Caleon looked once again at the beautiful woman in his arms. Green eyes allured with desire stared back at him, not hazel-colored eyes. The raven-colored hair magically shifted to curly silvery hair that spiraled around the heaving bosoms.

“My, my, General Caleon. What enchanting memory you have of the beautiful Princess Adelaine.”

The Enchantress of the Night smiled devilishly at Caleon.

Damn right in the family jewels!! It was intriguing that I was somehow transported back to the days when I was a young boy and finding my mom's stash of Sydney sheldon books.

That ending though I did not expect and I want more!!! Yabamatt and Aggro needs to make this a card !!!

It’s hard to follow along with my story with the time in between posting, but here you are with your sincere and encouraging comment. Makes me happy to know you and a few others truly enjoy my writing. Thanks Mave ☺️.

Sydney Sheldon is an author I haven’t read yet. Will have to check him out. I hadn’t planned on introducing a new character with the enchantress, but it worked out. Maybe now I can add more magic into the story.

Well done @beeyou! Fantastic follow up to your story! Look forward to the next one:) 🚁✈🚀

Thanks for stopping by @creativecrypto. Appreciate the support. :)

Wow, this is very good... I think you missed your calling, you are a beautiful wordsmith for sure! You should definitely keep going and turn this into a novel. Maybe like 50 shades of grey? :P

I'm very impressed... I know many others are too!!!

ps... make sure I get a signed copy of the book when it comes out ;)

I know the few fans follow along and humor me with their support 😉. I do have fun writing them. Although not a writer, I think I understand when they say writers get into a writing frenzy. I have a story in my mind that wants to be told, and I have no say!

Lol on the book. Maybe I can convince an editor that it will be a bestseller based on my post payouts in steemit worth. ;)

@beeyou I think you are understating (as usual) your abilities... You can write extremely well and I definitely want that book signed... and when you get that book deal your earnings will soar to at least $5 per post... so keep working young lady, you will get there ;)
