Steem Monster ALPHA Card Analytics - Shrinking Supply of Individual Cards!

in #steemmonsters5 years ago

I decided to do some interim analysis on which cards have been combined most (over time) to reflect the dwindling supply of Alpha Cards. The numbers presented in the below charts all reflect individual cards available, and do not reflect what came out of boosters originally, only what remains available as a single card (be it levelled, or not!)

First, let's look at how the cards have been combined by Splinter, overall.

Individual Card Availability

Legendary Cards, Regular Foil

Selenia Sky was unsurprisingly the fastest card that got combined the moment that battles started. The Gold Dragon also quickly became a powerful favourite, and the Lord of Darkness is starting to accelerate the rate at which it is combined.

It is interesting that the Chromatic Dragon, and Frost Giant were combined almost on a like for like basis, and it is no surprise that the Spirit of the Forest combination rate has remained flat, with the recent announcement of an incoming nerf.

Epic Cards, Regular Foil

The Swamp Thing... is a thing. As a staple of any green team, it was combined hard, and quickly. The same thing happened with the Mischievous Mermaid. The Naga Warrior also presents a strong combine rate, reflecting its strength in combat. All other cards retain a pretty standard delta between their original supply and their combination rate.

Rare Cards, Regular Foil

Medusa, Alric Storm Bringer. These two cards tell the story in its entirety. :) They are among the heaviest combined cards, and started with the lowest level of supply since I started tracking this data. The Cerebrus and Zintar Mortalis, along with the Earth Elemental, are also combined an enormous amount. Between the 21/10/2018, and 28/10/2108, the Water Elemental saw a very sharp reduction in supply.

Common Cards, Regular Foil

Pirate Captain and Goblin Shaman Dominate the Combination Rates on the common chart.

What about by Splinter?

These charts are very busy, due to the large number of commons, rares, and epics. Therefore, let's look at each rarities combine rate, by Splinter, to see which is the most combined out of each splinter's arsenal of cards.

Death, Commons, Regular Foil

Earth Commons, Regular Foil

Fire, Commons, Regular Foil

Life, Commons, Regular Foil

Water, Commons, Regular Foil

Death, Rares, Regular Foil

Earth, Rares, Regular Foil

Fire, Rares, Regular Foil

Life, Rares, Regular Foil

Water, Rares, Regular Foil

Overall, we have seen a reduction in supply of individual cards from 941319 to 685570 in just under a month!

In my opinion, this means that Alpha cards are still underpriced, given that less of them are required to max out a card compared to their beta counterparts.

I think Alpha cards will go up also. Once we get tourny play we will see the true value of all these cards.

"In my opinion, this means that Alpha cards are still underpriced"

I think so too.
