Steem Monsters Booter Pack ROI Tracking - Day 2
Hey all,
I'm running a 10 day test to see if I can get an ROI on opening Steem Monsters packs. I purchased 10 packs and I'll be showcasing one of the opened packs each day for the next 10 days. In order to determine the value of the cards within the packs, I'll be looking at the Steem Monsters marketplace for the lowest price on the day that I post the pack. I'll then keep a running total value of cards on the days they are presented and compare it to the cost to purchase 10 packs to determine the ROI associated. Pending the results, I may extend this experiment after these original 10 posts.
Day 2/10
Very similar to last week:
Giant Roc - $0.06
Animated Corpse - $0.05
Spineback Wolf - $0.04
Haunted Spirit - $0.13
Centaur - $0.21
Total Value of Cards Day 2: $0.49
Pack Cost: $2.00
Net Gain/Loss: $-1.51
ROI: -75.5%
Total Value of Cards to Date: $0.90
Pack Cost: $4.00
Net Gain/Loss: -$3.10
ROI: -77.5%

Better to buy specific cards on the market from your actual result.

That's what I was doing at first, assuming this experiment continues with these results, I'll probably return to that strategy.
This is an interesting experiment.

It's really gold searching... every pack with no gold or legendaries will likely be a loss. But one good gold card could be worth hundreds or even thousands!
I figured it would work out something like that, hopefully I get lucky haha. I wonder if the drop rates for some of those more valuable cards are high enough that there is a statistically probable gain if you buy a large enough quantity of packs.
