Steem Monsters are Coming - Won a Nice Booster Pack In Contest!

This post is meant as both a pre-cursor to the unleashing of the @steemmonsters RPG behemoth to the steem blockchain, and more importantly a big thank you to a few generous people who have invested both their time and rewards, to help me personally. Unfortunately for them, I am a total disaster at the moment and way behind on the gameplay and strategy right now! 😂

This post is also quite overdue for various reasons (was planning to write this a couple of weeks ago). Amongst them of course, was the implementation of HF20 at around the same time that I was planning to write this, which rendered the platform to a crawling ghost town, amongst other issues with posting and voting (let’s not go there again lol). Other personal issues and time constraints on writing have also gotten in the way recently, which was also extremely challenging for my first priority on this blockchain, being the @deepdives community (shameless plug inserted for good cause - wink wink).

Everyone who has a stake in this game at any level is obviously very excited and looking forward to this coming Sunday where the first battles will be taking place exclusively on the steem platform. Make no mistake about it, this is going to be big! Some of the largest stakeholders on the platform are heavily invested in this! If you haven’t yet checked it out, just go and check out the very active @steemmonsters account, as well as all the fanfare buzzing around the place, which includes the insane amount of card pack sales (both single and in bulk), the very active card trading market that is consistently taking place on a daily basis, as well as the daily card giveaways being run by multiple steemians that are helping even the smallest account holders get a start in the game, without any financial commitment to start with! I myself entered numerous contests and was fortunate to win a few booster packs and individual cards to start a collection of cards, thanks to those generous contest holders. I have since invested in a Beta Monster Trainer (Kick Starter package) as a way to invest some stake into the game and to help compliment my other writing commitments for the @deepdives community (second shameless plug noted – cross promotion is a thing). I really look forward to opening those packs once they arrive!

If you are interested in joining in the fun and excitement that this RPG will create, as well as help create an opportunity for growth in the platform and popularity in steem (which benefits us all long term), then look no further than these two bloggers who are very immersed and extremely knowledgeable in all facets of the game. Go and visit the blogs of @cryptkeeper17 and @davemccoy to find all sorts of great information about @steemmonsters, including the rules of the game, specific details and abilities of each card and how they fit into the overall strategy of gameplay, as well as the @steemmonsters marketplace itself, in buying the actual cards and what to look out for. @cryptkeeper17 and @davemccoy were also very generous in gifting me my first steemmmonster cards for no real reason at all, well before I won any cards in contests! How’s that for awesomness:) Thanks you fellas! 😃

Now just taking a small step back to the contests I mentioned earlier and how it helped me start a collection of playable/tradeable cards. I have been fortunate enough to run reasonably well when opening some of those booster packs. In one of the first contests I entered, I was lucky enough to take home a prize of 10 booster packs, where I managed to find a Gold Dragon Legendary. As cool as that is though, I recently won a single booster pack prize, in a random drawing of a contest run by @beeyou on her blog. Well since I haven’t thanked her as yet, I will do that right here and now! Thank you @beeyou for your generosity and the single booster pack prize, which included the cards below!😃

Now that’s what you call run good! A single pack opening won in a contest, produces a Legendary Chromatic Dragon and two rare’s (including one summoner which is a requirement to play). Here is the winner’s announcement post.
         

Now I would like to take a little time to share my two favourite cards with you all. Below I present what I consider to be the most awesome and beasty card in the deck!😈

Cerberus

Just take a look into those menacing, haunting and hypnotic red eyes! Be careful not to stare for too long though, as he will banish you into the underworld to never return!
         

As bad as that sounds, it could be a lot worse! You could make the unfortunate mistake that a lot of boy monsters make and fall for the charm of this sexy monster gal.

Medusa

Just like Cerberus, she has haunting red eyes to compliment her slithering snake hair, which many find irresistible, only to get lured into her clutches. Of course they are unaware of the trap and severe consequences they are in for, just like the dude below!

Stone Golem

Poor Stone Golem, I feel for you buddy 🙁🙁🙁…I’m sure he learnt his lesson after being turned to stone for staring inappropriately above the modern creep threshold.
