I gave in to the FOMO... Did this investment pay off?!

I was reading a post by @aggroed this morning, talking about the $2.5million market cap of #steemmonster and how a large influx of "whales" has caused this to shoot up. I won't bore you too much but I'll leave the link here, its definitely worth a read:

It also talks about the number of BETA packs decreasing and this sent my FOMO in to overdrive.

Well this got me thinking...... Don't worry it didn't hurt too much!! It suddenly dawned on me that

Ive never bought an actual booster pack

The start of my #steemmonsters journey is actually down to a good friend @mattclarke. When the game first started, I wasn't too keen to get involved but was tempted in by him giving me a few key cards to get me going.

At this point in the game you could play along without having to buy a "starter pack". Unfortunately they changed the rules and a $10 buy-in was required. This I thought was the end of my steemmonsters journey, until @coolbowser was so kind in offering me a promo-code.

Well I got a little off topic there!! The point of this post was to show that I gave in to the FOMO and just bought 7, Beta, booster packs and hopefully I can get a few cards I need.

Now if you've been playing this game for a while, you can instantly tell that this was $14 poorly spent....

I'd been having a run of luck with my reward cards, heck I'd even been picking up a few GF promo cards in the ORB packs, so thought my luck would continue. UNFORTUNATELY IT DID NOT

I suppose these are the chances you take! I will admit that opening up 35 beta cards got the old heart racing a bit at the thought of pulling something GOLD and LEGENDARY, but sadly it wasn't meant to be. With the number of BETA packs decreasing daily, the prices of the rarer/GF cards are only ever going to go up. So this could have been a great investment but I'm sure my luck will change back soon and "theres always next time".......

Next time I think I'll just stick to putting those hard earned $$$ in to buying a summoner or 2.
