Dark Energy Crystals will be native token of steemmonsters which you'll be able to buy cards especially made for dec, pay tournament fees, buy skins, trade them on steemengine for steem etc. I'm excited to see how dark energy crystals will work and at what price will these tokens trade at. You'll be able to earn them by winning matches or just burning reward and beta cards. The higher your league the more dec tokens you'll get from the daily dec reward pool. After dec launch you'll not be able to use discord upvote bot anymore. I think that dec will solve lots of problems which the game is facing now which is good for steemmonsters economy. After dec l expect to see lots of active players and also active bot players which in my opinion most likely to happen.
