My First Dtube Video| Filipino Food: Halo-Halo or Shaved Ice Sundae

in #steemph6 years ago

It's summer here in the Philippines and the heat is on the rage. This is the time of the year where this Filipino food is very marketable. Its sweetness and coldness is a perfect treat to quench the thirst and to control the hotness of the weather.

I am talking about Halo-Halo or Filipino Shaved Ice Sundae. Halo-Halo is a repetitive word which means mix or blend. This is a mixture of sweetened stuff filled with shaved or crushed ice, drizzled with evaporated milk, then top with leche flan, halayang ube or ice cream.
I passed by a sidewalk vendor who sells Halo-halo. I decided to catch a video of the preparation of this famous Filipino food and share it with you guys here in @Dlive.

The contents of Halo-Halo varies accordingly to the person who makes them. Most importantly the ingredients are sweetened fruits or root crops. The selection of the ingredients depends on the person. The possibilities are endless. There is no fixed amount. The toppings are optional.

Here is the preparation and the ingredients of the Halo-Halo I bought

Halo-Halo is a famous Filipino cold dessert. It is sold in restaurants and mainly sold in the streets during the summer season. When you go to the Philippines, you should not forget this Filipino food. It will freshen you up most especially because the weather here is humid. The mixture of sweetened ingredients blends in your mouth. The milk made this food extra creamy. The shaved ice is just a perfect balance to the sweetness and creaminess.

Remember the name. It is Halo-Halo!
