Walk of Hope Update : Free Music & Arts "at its' best"

in #steemph6 years ago (edited)

This Free Art Workshop that commenced last May 2nd in Bayawan City is still ongoing and ends next week. This to complete a total of 16 sessions for our 2 groups of kids, ages 6- 14 years. As I have been showing their works lately, it doesn't end there, we have loads still to show you guys. I have compiled some for this update, all courtesy of Marlon aka @flabbergast-art.

According to Marlon, once this Summer Workshop is over, the Department of Eduction will give each child a certificate of completion.

The Philippines during pre-Hispanic times have already its' own language called Baybayin. For its' preservation, we Filipinos thank the earliest Spanish missionaries as they copied and explained them in their books. Without them, this early way of writing could have been lost.

Although not known to many, few Filipino Steemian artists have mentioned this in some of their posts. Marlon for his part had a bit of Baybayin lessons prior to this Tour. Accordingly, our ancestors were using Bamboo to write Baybayin, they do this while the bamboo are still young and green, writing with pointed stones. I will let your imagination works in here.

There are stands created for them bamboo so let's wait and see where they will be arranged by Marlon.

These sessions start from 9AM till noon. While the kids are on breaks and even just after their lessons, Marlon have been showing his indigenous instruments as the plan is for them to play all the instruments when this workshop is over as there will be a small program afterwards. Date to be confirmed.

Can you see the adjustable bamboo stand? Am sure, we will see more of this bamboo stuff in the future.

In lieu of Steemit Philippines' mission to PROMOTE THE PLATFORM THROUGH IT's CHARITY INITIATIVES, this Tour is to bring Music & Arts to the underprivileged Filipinos in Visayas and Mindanao. @flabbergast-art, together with Tatay Dagsa and other creatives is bringing this to fruition, funded by STEEM and as a dollar goes a long way in the Philippines, our/your SBDs/STEEMs is making this happen.

Love this! :)

Beng!!! Talo tayo noh?😁😂🤣

I love the modern version of writing on bamboo. These kids are certainly having a varied and fun time @immarojas. Everyone must be very pleased with how the project is going! 😍

Yeah we all are! @flabbergast-art most of all☺

Woww... its nice na maranasan rin ng mga batang makapag sulat sa bamboo at matutunan nila ang part ng history ng ating wika! Very nice initiative, kudos to the team! 👌

Thank you.. si @flabbergast-art po ang head ng project. I think all of the adults are quite envious with what they're doing lols

These children are really inspiring.
At maraming salamat sa mga taong nasa likod ng paghahatid ng ganitong uri ng pagbibigay kasiyahan at paghahasa ng galing ng mga kabataan. :)

Thank you. It's @flabbergast-art whose leading it☺

Bless the good heart of everyone! :)
Nawa'y marami pa po ang matulungan na mga kababayan natin.

Nawa'y dadami din ang tutulong para dadami din ang matutulungan.
Collectively, we can do so so much more!

This is so wonderful to see. Art is an amazing outlet, and giving young people (or really people of any age) access to express their creativity is so important! 💖

Thank you..any age, in whatever situation in life, any time and place, Art is a lifesaver☺

Hello friend @immarojas, I like to watch the children in such a wonderful workshop, it is important that they learn to use their hands in something other than a cell phone or a computer, they are doing a great job, congratulations. Happiness always.

Yes @syllem ..our adventures of long ago have been replaced by computer games☺
These kids i hope would start a new trend.

Ganda ng first pic ate noh? Parang di ko yata na malayan yan sa group chat natin. Gawa ba yan ng isa sa mga bata? Nakakaiyak sya. Dahil kung ako siguro ang mag draw, yung mga stickman ang nagawa ko. Hahahaa

Inaamin naman naten na we dunno how to draw ahahaha! Yeah! It's one of those sent by Kuya Marlon ;0)
