Last May 5, 2018 was the schedule of the Discord Voice Chat on #teenvestors channels with @smaeunabs on Financial Literacy. We started 21:00H and end up midnight already. It was their Third Open Discussion in Teenvestors Discord Channel: Cebu Community but it is my Second joining the Live Chat with them. At first, she had a short introduction to herself that she was an Engineer by profession and Scam many times already. She was helping us regarding on financial literacy because she doesn't want the story repeat again to other #steemians.

What is cryptocurrency?

• Cryptocurrency is just like online banking or you are simply having a virtual or digital representation of your actual money online.

Online Banking vs. Cryptocurrency

Online banking – centralized with government (middle man, or third party)
Cryptocurrency- decentralized

Bitcoin and Altcoins

Bitcoin – mother coin(created by Satoshi Nakamoto) – people are thinking valuable.

• Trust
• decentralization
  Altcoins(alternative coins) – crypto other than bitcoins

Why do altcoins exist?

• promote decentralized platforms
• to solve existing problems of cyrptos

How to acquire cyrptos” it depends on the law of supply and demand

• ICO – Initial Coin Offering
• Buying on exchanges
• Mining

How to earn though cryptos?

• Price appreciation
• Investing in Altcoins/ Cryptocurrency
• Trading
• Mining/ Staking

The advantages of Cryptocurrency is that you can send your money anywhere, whom do you want while the disadvantage is if you chase your money you have nothing to do because no one can be chased (Ug gukdon wa kay ma gukod).

• Think about your financial goals
• Get rid of debts
• Prepare an emergency fund
• Long term vs short term investment
• Assess your financial capability
• Plan ahead and set targets
• Increase your cash inflow
• Spend less than what you earn/Delayed gratification
• Know your risk appetite
• Understand your investment options
• Surround yourself with like-minded people
• Be consistent

Financial Vehicles

• Saving account - Allowing you to deposit money, keep the funds safe, and withdraw funds as needed
• Time Deposit – lower risk investment mechanisms that provide a specified interest rate in return leaving funds deposited for a specified amount of time.
• Bonds- fixed income investment in which an investor loans money to an entity (typically corporate or governmental) which borrows the funds for a defined period of time a variable or fixed interest.
• Stock market – the collection of markets and exchanges where the issuing and trading of equities or stocks of publicly held companies, bonds and other classes of securities take place.
• Mutual Funds -The collection of markets and exchange where the issuing and trading of equities or stocks of publicly held companies, bonds and other classes of securities take place.
• Life insurance - Life insurance plus stock market.
• Real Estate -appreciates in value over time but it will be hard to find a buyer just in case you badly need the money.
• Cryptocurrency/Forex Trading
• Crowdfunding - just like stocks

As she said there is a need to have deep discussions of some of the topics that would be discussed the next schedule because we run out of time. I relearn some of the topics she was discussed because I also attending some Financial Literacy before. I was also being SCAM which ignites me to listen on her discussion as she said "WE LEARN AND EARN TOGETHER" and @jassennessaj: "ALL OF US ARE THE SAME."
