El virus del pasado
La medicina siempre ha sido uno de los campos de estudio más importantes para el ser humano, no solamente desde punto de vista práctico, que permite, o que siempre ha permitido a la humanidad curar enfermedades, afecciones, o heridas: sino también desde el punto de vista preventivo, para el cual pueden surgir una gran cantidad de soluciones a problemas que incluso no se tienen hoy en día. La prevención en el ámbito de la medicina corresponde a uno de los deseos más ambiciosos del ser humano, el deseo de ser inmortal, si bien la inmortalidad representa un concepto bastante abstracto, y quizá imposible para nosotros, muchas veces nos conformamos con tener la ilusión de que algún día podremos ser Inmortales, pero aún así en el presente, compensamos esta ilusión con un aumento desmedido de la esperanza de vida de cada uno de nosotros.
Al pasar los siglos el ser humano intentó por todas las vidas posibles aumentar este número, hacer que cada vez el humano viviera más mejor y sin problemas asociados al paso del tiempo, en este caso lo que se buscaba era mejorar a nivel global la vida del ser humano, sin embargo muchos factores no fueron estudiados, la sobrepoblación fue una consecuencia inmediata de este tipo de acciones. Era muy cierto que estás personas vivían más y eran mucho más sanas que sus antepasados, aun así, estaban viviendo mucho más tiempo en un planeta con mucho menos recursos, esto no era más que un círculo vicioso que lo que hacía era socavar los pocos recursos naturales que aún quedaban en el planeta. Entre una de las acciones más increíbles a nivel científico, fue el manejo de la genética como herramienta, no sólo para predecir enfermedades, sino para corregirlas, incluso antes de que fueran expresadas fenotípicamente.
Entre tanto, el campo investigación de la biología celular también daba frutos bastante interesantes, para la época, ya enfermedades como el sida eran sólo una referencia histórica, que daba lugar a reflexiones acerca de qué tan vulnerable había sido el ser humano en el pasado. Sin embargo para esta época ya este virus sólo representaba un fragmento de la historia, un éxito más para el ser humano, una etapa fulminada, ya no representaba ningún peligro, ni mucho menos algún tipo de preocupación para la sociedad, incluso este virus fue exterminado de toda muestra posible que se pudiera tomar de un ser humano, sólo quedaban algunas muestras de este virus en cultivos altamente resguardados, y aparentemente sin utilidad alguna.
Poco después y con sucesivos avances en la biología molecular, se crearon anticuerpos tan efectivos que sólo era necesario incrustarlos en el cuerpo del feto para que hiciera efecto a lo largo de la vida completa de este ser, es decir las vacunas también habían cambiado para esta época, ya no hacía falta inyectarse cada cierto tiempo los anticuerpos para enfermedades específicas, ahora sólo bastaba con inyectarse este tipo de anticuerpos genéticamente modificado, estructuralmente estudiados y bioquímicamente optimizado, una sola vez en la vida y con ello neutralizar cientos de potenciales enfermedades que pudieran presentarse en ese individuo.
Lamentablemente predecir cambios biológicos debidos a la evolución natural de los sistemas es casi imposible, al menos no con una gran exactitud, pudiéramos pensar que también existe un principio incertidumbre que nos limita la predicción de cómo los sistemas biológicos van a evolucionar en el tiempo debido a la selección natural.
Luego de varias generaciones en las que estos anticuerpos fueron probados por primera vez, los científicos nunca se percataron de que pudieron haber existido cambios espontáneos en la estructura de estos, qué generaría un problema a futuro. Para este punto, la humanidad se había encontrado con uno de los problemas más grandes, no solamente el punto de vista biológico sino también desde el punto de vista moral, ya que el origen de este problema era consecuencia absoluta del desarrollo de la humanidad misma, ellos mismos habían creado el monstruo que estaba a punto de extinguirlos.
Sin predicción alguna, los anticuerpos había mutado de tal forma que ahora no solamente atacaban a ciertas enfermedades, sino que también vulneraron de forma Irreversible y mortal mecanismos biológicos esenciales para la vida humana. Eran la muestra viva de cómo una solución a miles enfermedades se había, convertido en una enfermedad mucho peor. La población de la tierra para ese entonces, había disminuido tres cuartas partes, ya las esperanzas para el ser humano eran realmente bajas, las personas se entregaron a su destino, se entregaron al camino que finalmente los llevaría a una muerte segura y sin posibilidad de escape.
Justo cuando ya pensaban que era el fin definitivo de la raza humana, siendo está lo suficientemente ingenua como para haber creado su propia destrucción, un grupo de científicos ubicados en Noruega lograron idear un mecanismo para destruir el anticuerpo sintético.
Este mecanismo involucraba nada más y nada menos que el suministro intravenoso de un virus bastante conocido, un enemigo del pasado había vuelto bajo otra faceta, un enemigo del pasado, sería el héroe del presente y combatiría a los virus que estaban a punto destruir la humanidad. Irónicamente y sin esperarlo el único virus capaz de neutralizar los virus sintéticos era el virus del Sida, aquel virus que alguna vez representó uno de los grandes problemas de la humanidad, nuevamente había aparecido en la historia, pero esta vez para ser la solución. El ensayo in vitro preliminar, tuvo total éxito, y dadas las limitaciones del tiempo, los ensayos in vivo dieron resultados bastante positivos, en aproximadamente 15 años la población humana, resolvió el problema de los virus sintéticos, utilizando piezas del pasado que ellos mismos creían enterradas y sólo partes de un museo que nadie visitaba, fue esa misma pieza la que les devolvió la vida. El pasado logro ser ese eslabón perdido que les ató la vida a su especie, y permitió la continuación de su historia. Más allá de los avances científicos, fue el conocimiento de su historia, lo que realmente les permitió encontrar la gran solución.

It was very true that these people lived longer and were much healthier than their ancestors, even so, they were living much longer on a planet with much fewer resources, this was just a vicious circle that was undermining the few natural resources that were still on the planet. Among the most incredible actions at the scientific level, was the management of genetics as a tool, not only to predict diseases, but to correct them, even before they were expressed phenotypically.
Meanwhile, the field of cell biology research was also bearing quite interesting fruits, for the time, as diseases such as AIDS were only a historical reference, giving rise to reflections on how vulnerable human beings had been in the past. However, by this time this virus only represented a fragment of history, another success for the human being, a fulminated stage, it no longer represented any danger, much less any kind of concern for society, even this virus was exterminated from every possible sample that could be taken from a human being, only a few samples of this virus remained in highly protected crops, and apparently without any use whatsoever.
Shortly after and with successive advances in molecular biology, antibodies were created so effective that it was only necessary to incrust them in the body of the fetus in order for them to have an effect throughout the entire life of this being, that is to say, the vaccines had also changed for this time, it was no longer necessary to inject the antibodies for specific diseases every now and then, now it was only enough to inject this type of genetically modified antibodies, structurally studied and biochemically optimized, only once in a lifetime and with it neutralize hundreds of potential diseases that could appear in that individual.
Unfortunately to predict biological changes due to the natural evolution of the systems is almost impossible, at least not with a great exactitude, we could think that there also exists a uncertainty principle that limits us the prediction of how the biological systems will evolve in the time due to the natural selection.

For this point, humanity had encountered one of the greatest problems, not only from the biological point of view but also from the moral point of view, since the origin of this problem was an absolute consequence of the development of humanity itself, they themselves had created the monster that was about to extinguish them.
Without any prediction, the antibodies had mutated in such a way that now they not only attacked certain diseases, but also irreversibly and mortally violated biological mechanisms essential to human life. They were the living proof of how a solution to thousands of diseases had become a much worse disease. The population of the earth at that time had decreased three quarters, and the hopes for the human being were really low, people gave themselves to their destiny, they gave themselves to the road that would finally lead them to a certain death with no possibility of escape.
Just when they thought it was the ultimate end of the human race, being naive enough to have created its own destruction, a group of scientists based in Norway managed to devise a mechanism to destroy the synthetic antibody.
This mechanism involved nothing more and nothing less than the intravenous supply of a well-known virus, an enemy of the past had returned under another facet, an enemy of the past, would be the hero of the present and would fight the viruses that were about to destroy humanity. Ironically and without expecting it, the only virus capable of neutralizing synthetic viruses was the AIDS virus, that virus that once represented one of the great problems of humanity, had appeared again in history, but this time to be the solution.
