Flower Dome @ Garden by the Bay
Flower Dome at Garden by the bay is a good spot for tourists. It’s designed with glass and steel grid which’s looks like eggshell.
There are 2 cooled conservatories at Garden by the Bay, which’s Flower Dome and Clouded Forest. There are largest column less glass green houses in the world.
Today let me share with you some photos I took when I visited Flower Dome last week.
The bird sculpture is an eye-catching point at the main entrance. It’s displayed surrounded by Agave sp. and Sedum sp. planting.
Currently the design theme for Flower Dome is Mediterranean style.
The colourful and variety flowering shrubs such as Begonia sp. are planted clustery. It’s creating amazing scenery and sense of place for Flower Dome.
Many tourists are visiting especially in the weekends. It’s very crowded, and not easy to capture a nice picture.
Agave gulengola is succulent plant. Native from Mexico. It’s prefer full sun or partial sunlight condition, and tolerant to dry soils.
Brunia albiflora, Coffee bush is foliage shrubs, reaching 2m overall height. The leaves similar to a pine tree.
Bombax ceiba, Red Cotton Tree is large and deciduous tree. It has beautiful and attractive appearance.
Phoenix canariensis, Canary Island Date Palm reaching 20m maximum height. It occurs in moist forest, prefer well-drained soils.
Hydrangea macrophylla, Snowball Flower, 绣球花 is beautiful flowering shrub, reaching 1-2m maximum height. The flowers are used to treat various heart diseases. It prefer semi-shade and lots of water.
