Let us Educate ourselves

What is a Black Market?

"A black market is economic activity that takes place outside government-sanctioned channels. Black market transactions usually occur “under the table” to let participants avoid government price controls or taxes." - Read more: [Black Market] (https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/blackmarket.asp#ixzz5KyopEE1O)

Basically every buy and sell initiated with both parties without undergoing business permits or any that governs it. In the country Philippines, there are a lot of Black Markets lining the streets especially to those who sell fake brand of sunglasses, fake brand of shoes, fake brand of bags and even fake brand of shirts. People still wanted to buy these sort of things because it is cheaper than the original brand.

Don't buy from the Black Market, Why?

For me, buying a stuff from the illegal sellers and non-permit business buildings does not help the economy grow. The fact that we are not paying taxes for it, we also did not contribute for our Country or City.

Yes. I know it is very appealing to the eyes, especially to those fake branded shoes and shirts, you may able to buy a pair of Nike Shoes for a price of 400PHP/8USD from $50USD/2500PHP.

You should not be trusting the products that being manufactured and sold from the Black Market because it is not durable.

I bought a 300 Peso VANS shoes and the shoes worn out for a month, I also bought an Original pair of Nike shoes from the Outlets for a Price of 5000 Peso, the Nike is almost 2 years and never been worn out.

Don't settle for less when you can have more

I believe that every person has to deal with their budget. Others seem cannot afford those price ranges from 3000PHP above, that is why they settle for less. But should we really settle for less when we already know that the product is good for a month? Do your own math, what do you think?

The Great Debate

For Filipinos out there who has their own "Sari-sari stores" is your store considered a Black Market? Because there were no regulations and business permits. There are already a few medium-large Stores that has their own business permits.

Is also buying a StreetFood considered a Black Market?

For me Blackmarket is slighlty important for buying something that does not exist in your country. Like things to manufacture important parts and technology, some even sell papers with important information that is against the law. It is also important for a Communist Country, when people needs freedom and expression. Buying things that they can be satisfied. What are your thoughts? Share it below!
