A break...
Not all patients are the same, not all surgeries are as you expect, or every day of the same color ... We have ups and downs and over time we learn to master those difficult moments. In medicine as well as in many sciences we call it: "learning curve", which translates into experience.
These days have been a lot of work in Venezuelan hospitals, the collapse of patients and the need faced with a shortage of resources cause an implosion of the health system ... In spite of the great amount of efforts that many of us make, we fall into exhaustion and Burnout syndrome...
In those spaces where we can take refuge, in those moments where we can breathe a little more... We do it!
And here's one of those ways to take refuge: Writing for all those who like to read to me and reading to many in this community.
Today I don't bring you much, I bring you a poem of my inspiration that arose from one of those surgeries so long that they leave me with a very strong back pain but a great satisfaction.
My Poem: Your patient
He took the scalpel in his fingers and began surgery,
His eyes could not be removed from the art of operating,
And in the midst of his challenges he achieved a symphony,
It was to see his hand dance and not blink.
It was to see his finesse seduce and soon offend.
Surgeon of expertise, science and empathy,
Surgeon to fight and always work,
Never tell your story or mine,
For my sorrow is your labor,
Even if you forget to sleep forever go on.
Your gloves full of cold blood,
They are emotion to give of my palpitate,
Don't rush that at the end of the day
My best awakening is to be expected,
And my gratitude for your glitter will be my great feeling.

Es dificil saber que sentir y como llevar esas situaciones, por que en el caso que permitas enfermarte o colapsar quien cubrira ese espacio, quien atenderá a los enfermos si el Dr esta enfermo... en eso pienso cuando me siento sobrecargado, en las personas que estan detras y es algo contradictorio por que si descanso entonces tambien estaran esos pacientes sin ser atendidos
Totalmente cierto @cienciatips, estamos ante un sistema que colapsa bajo sus propias columnas. Aquellos quienes estamos más dispuestos sufrimos las graves consecuencias de una falta objetiva de organización y una escasez de respuestas. La pregunta es... ¿Cuanto más pueden soportar estos pilares sin ser responsables de una inadecuada construcción? Gracias por tu comentario.
