Rishikesh is one of the holiest cities in India and is bustling with people from all over India and the world. They are in search of religious experiences, spirituality, yoga and the divine way. Ascetics line the streets, begging for money amongst the motorbikes and wandering cows. The town is alive with movement and colour.
I loved it, but I also hated it. It had the best and sometimes the worst of what you can expect from India! Over the next week I'd like to share my experience of this city and the country with my drone. Oh and flying your drone was INCREDIBLY, due to the laws and public perception of them.
The image below is a drone photo of the holy River Ganges. The River is as amazing as people say it is - you just have to visit it to find out. As you can see, I've not edited this image, it simply isn't possible, or at least I don't know how to remove the awful smog that lies above this ancient town. The air can be really dirty on some days, owing to the topography, weather systems and incessant burning of rubbish and incense.
