One of the hottest villain of Bollywood, Sonu Sood is on cloud nine after the big success of his last release film ‘Simmba’, staring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in lead role. But the bad news is out that the actor is stuck in big legal trouble due to his new hotel business. According to the reports, Sonu Sood was running illegal hotel at residential building for which he has been given notice.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reportedly initiated action against Sood for running a hotel in residential building without permission or a license.

In June 2018, Sonu's application for converting his Juhu residence into lodge service was already rejected. He had submitted a proposal to the BP Department of BMC's K-West ward office, seeking permision for converting residential premises of Shiv Sagar building in Juhu into a lodging service, which was rejected stating that Sonu would have to comply with all norms. After dismissal of first proposal, Sonu did not submit a revised proposal.

After a complaint filed by a Civic Activist Ganesh Kusumulu, the K West ward's health department officials inspected the premises. In their submitted report they stated that lodging services were being illegally provided in the ground-plus-six structure. The building has a total of 23 operational rooms. The report also stated that trade activities needed to immediately stop once the report was received. In case of non-compliance, legal action under section 394 of MMC Act will be initiated.

An official who requested not to disclose his identity confirmed the status of their inspection to the tabloid by saying that the lodging didn't have a license to go ahead, and hence a prosecution against the actor would be initiated soon.

A senior officer of the department, who wants to be anonymous said, "We had asked for compliance of several aspects pertaining to fire safety, FSI consumption and parking requirement details among others. The plot also falls under the Coastal Regulation Zone but has been approved according to the DCR 1967 (Development Control Regulations)."

Sood, however, maintained his stand and refused the allegations saying he always follows a protocol. "I also have the necessary shops and establishment licenses with me and the regularization is already under process. There are a few more documents that the BMC needs and my architect will provide them shortly. Since it is an old building, a lot of paperwork is involved. I have been supporting the BMC and recently even got the garbage cleared from a nearby place which was turned into a dumping yard," he said.

The actor also denied knowing anything about a probable legal action stating that he had not been intimated about it yet.
