The Portal- Syfy Story
He woke up a little stunned. He didn't clearly remember the last events, everything was foggy. Lying on his back he tried to take account of the time that had elapsed, nothing. He was still in darkness. A slight buzz in his left ear alerted him. It was the signal emitted by the implant, he had to meet without wasting time.
The expeditionaries knew that when they felt the timer signal it was time, they had to find the entrance to the portal. No one knew how long the transdimensional passage would be open, this depended on the confluence of gravitational forces.
As he could, he incorporated. Fighting against his own weakness he was able to walk a few steps. The light sandstorm hit his face, he could barely see a few meters in front of him. He tried to find some reference, but it was in vain, he was still disoriented. He felt the anguish grow in his chest.
He remembered old stories about stragglers. Stories in which it was said that the closing of the portal triggered unpredictable events. Speculations woven in the moments of laziness between his expeditions. The truth was that even the most prominent scholars did not know what happened when they were trapped in the dimension being explored.
He fell several times and fell again, he felt faint, the air barely touched his lungs. A slight tremor shook him, it was the second sign of the timer. His whole body was soaked with sweat, the second sign indicated the closing of the portal.
At first it was like a slight tingling, his gaze went through his hands. The thought was emptied. The bright light with a continuous purring seized the place.
Thanks for your time.
