SteemDesk - How much APR do the bid-bots you delegated to gives you?

in #steempress6 years ago (edited)

Every week, I search the deepest corners of the steem platform to look for a new or underrated tool that I think would be of interest to some of you.

A month ago, @gmichelbkk made a post about: Case Study: Which Top Upvoting Bots to Delegate to for the Highest Daily Payout?. What caught my attention on the said post though was @cardboard's comment about SteemDesk.

What is SteemDesk?

SteemDesk claims to be the missing tool for the Steem blockchain. An all tools for the Steem blockchain found only on one desk - SteemDesk. It is created by @cutemachine and is under constant development as seen on the tools roadmap.

Features:

Probably the best feature SteemDesk has to offer right now is calculating how much APR one have received by delegation. Since most of my natural Steem Power goes to community I support and which supports me back in return. It's not surprising at all to see the numbers below at 0.00%, since I am not receiving any Steem/SBD from them.

But what if you are delegating most of your Steem Power to bid-bots? Wouldn't you love to know how much APR you are getting by simply just delegating to them?

A perfect example for this is the user @lavater who have delegated equally 1000SP each to 8 popular bid-bots.

By default, it shows data either from your last delegation or from a specific timeframe. The data above was taken from June 24 to July 11 2018. In a span of 17 days the most profitable bid-bot for delegators among the 8 bid-bots listed above is @therising giving 2.69SP and 7.42 SBD.

If you want to get the complete historical data, all you need to do is click "Load More". It will then show you the APR from the day you started delegating to them.

With a much longer timeframe of 75 days. It seems that @tipu is the most profitable bot to delegate from among the 8 bid-bots listed above. Of course there are also many other things that needs to be considered from all this such as Effective Steem Power of the Bot, number of SBD/Steem sent to the bot on a daily basis and much more.

However, if all you want is just to take a quick look as to what APR you would probably get from them, then SteemDesk does it job pretty well.

Thanks for the article about SteemDesk. I'm glad you like it and that it is of use to you.

One word of caution. The calculation of APR is very simple and does not catch all edge cases. SteemDesk assumes that all payments from another account to your account is due to the delegation you made. But if the other account transfers some money your way, SteemDesk might see it as a payout for your investment, which might result in a higher APR.

SteemDesk is open source, pull requests are welcome :)

Thanks for the clarification. :)

SteemDesk assumes that all payments from another account to your account is due to the delegation you made.

That probably is the reason why @tipu got a higher APR in this one. Tipu has a deposit and withdrawal feature, if lavater at some point withdraw some of her deposits then the calculation of APR for tipu will be higher.

Either way I really love this tool. I even use the "Activity" feature to quickly check transfers from one account because it loads way faster compared to the wallet transfers here on steemit. Although it would be nice if you could beautify how the "content" is displayed though. :) But overall, I love it

wow,nice tool.
APR of tipu is awesome.

Yes, tipU payouts are good, but please notice my other comment on this thread.
