年初四晚上，突然傳出賭王病況轉差消息，有指他轉入ICU。據來自醫院方面的消息，賭王是在昨日傍晚6時許情況開始轉壞，醫護進行急救，但已器官衰竭，醫生囑咐家人不要離開醫院。
大批傳媒在養和醫院門外守候。有傳媒拍到各房太太及子女先後來到醫院，當中包括甚少露面的大房長女何超賢、孫女何家華、二房何超鳳、三太陳婉珍及何超蓮。而四太梁安琪於晚上9點來到醫院，但她們都同一口徑說是來向賭王拜年，否認賭王病情有變化。三太及四太還向傳媒派利是。1012
