Science at home! Fun homemade experiments for the little ones. Let's continue learning about the Center of Gravity!

in #steempress5 years ago (edited)

Hello friends of @steemiteducation, the education of our children is fundamental for us as parents and that is why we always have to look for the best teaching tools that help us transmit knowledge in a practical and fun way. The experiments at home are a very valuable tool that we have to take advantage of, they offer us infinite possibilities that we must use to teach.Today we will continue studying what is the Center of Gravity.

Today we will make an experiment that will leave you surprised but it is necessary to supervise an adult if we are going to do it with children, since it involves two hammers and they can be a bit heavy and have some slight risk for the little ones so it is necessary that the potatoes help in the experiment that we will carry out.

It's about the Balancing Hammers !!

But before starting the fun it is important that we know or remember a basic concept.

What is the Center of Gravity?

The center of gravity is the point where all the gravitational forces that are exerted on a body are found. It is the place where the sagittal, frontal and horizontal planes meet.

Materials:
  • Two hammers
  • A piece of rope.

Process:

  • The first thing we have to do is make a lao with the rope so that we can place them on the handles of the two hammers mounted one above the other.
  • Then we must look for a flat surface where we can place the hammer on the top and that the bottom is hanging as shown in the video. we will go to our Balancing hammers .

What's happening?

The center of mass of the two hammers is below the point of support at the edge of the table and the assembly remains in stable equilibrium. If you tap one of the hammers we see that they oscillate on the edge of the table without falling.

Children love to do experiments. With them, while they have fun, they learn and ask questions about the world around them. Among its many benefits, scientific exploration, feeding, the child's natural curiosity, encouragement, stimulation, reasoning and logic, improving the ability to solve problems, improving self-esteem and preparing for understanding , understanding, understanding. Future It is not necessary to enjoy science to have a laboratory, be surprised by the amount of experiments that can be done with some materials made at home. So there's nothing else, get in touch with work and have fun with your children or students. I hope this article has been of interest and help, and I hope in my next post.
