In last few days, I've introduced the view of Gong Chen Bridge on the Grand Canal. Actually, I went there by water bus that day. This time, let me introduce to you the scenery along the water bus.

On the east side of Hangzhou Huancheng North Road and the Kunhe Center, you can see an 8-meter high sculpture in the shape of anchor with the words "Wulin Men Quay".

This design of sculpture is based on the ship anchor of the Southern Song Dynasty. It looks like wood, but the core is made of copper which is simulated. The ribbon with the words "Wulin Men Quay" on the top of the sculpture not only represents the shape of Hangzhou section of the canal, but also combines canal culture and silk culture. It reproduces the prosperity of canal in the Southern Song Dynasty as well as the status of being the"Home of Silk".

The stone archway is nearly 10 meters high with the beauty of both ancient and modern. It is the entrance to the Wulin Men water bus of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is composed of twelve upright stone pillars, which reflects the characteristics of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Cana from the aspect of geography as well as time. Four pairs of couplets written by famous artists are carved into stone pillars, and the top of the archway is engraved with the route map of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.

The building opposite the dock is one of Hangzhou's landmarks, the West Lake Cultural Square. We are ready to board the ship. The ticket price is three yuan, and you can use cash or Alipay.

Qianlong Emperor (1711-1899) made southern tour 6 times through the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. They were 1751, 1757, 1762, 1765, 1780 and 1784.

In the 16th year of Qianlong (1751), the emperor Hong Li made a southern tour to check the payment of imperial grain in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. The province of Jiangsu and Anhui accumulated huge amounts of debt, but Zhejiang province did not default. The emperor was so pleased that exempted the land of Zhejiang province from the reward of 300,000 yuan. The local government engraved the Imperial Decree on the stone tablet in order to inform the officials and people.

In the early summer, the drooping willows on both sides of the river reminded me of a seven-sentence poem by Zhang Xu, a Tang poet.

There are many super fat and large birds standing on the trees along the coast, some of them look like penguins. My mother and I were both curious about how they could stand leisurely on the top of the trees.

I can't show you my face, cuz I've still not recovered from the sunburn…😭😭

This is a temporary port for ships, mainly serving customs vessels nearby, so water buses will not stop here.

It's the Xiangji Temple Station. There are places like Xinyi Square, Xiangji Temple, Fuyi Warehouse and Shengli River Food Street. I will write about them in another posts.

With the arrival of the water bus, we boarded the shore. On our left hand is the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Museum, and on our right hand is Gongchen Bridge. There‘re a lot of sceneries and history here, let me introduce to in my later articles😊

The Chinese Version

之前几次呢，Vicky向大家介绍了大运河上拱宸桥的景色。其实勒，那天我是搭乘水上巴士去的啦。今次，让我来和大家介绍下水上巴士上沿途的风景❤️

当我们来到杭州环城北路坤和中心的东侧，就可以看到一座8米高船锚形状的武林门码头雕塑。这座雕塑，是以南宋船锚为原型设计的。它看着像木质品，其实内核是铜质的，只是做了仿真处理。雕塑上头这条印有“武林门码头”字样的丝带，既代表了运河杭州段的形状，也结合了运河文化与丝绸文化，再现南宋时期运河的繁华以及杭州“丝绸之府”的盛况。

经过武林门码头雕塑，我们面前就是一座近10米高的全石质牌坊，透着古朴又不失现代的气息，是京杭大运河武林门水上巴士入口处。它以十二根挺拔向上的石柱构成众多门洞，体现出京杭大运河贯通南北、沟通古今的特质。石柱上凿刻着名家书写的四对楹联，牌坊内顶刻有京杭大运河的线路图。

码头对面这桩高楼是杭州的地标之一——西湖文化广场（浙江自然博物馆就在该处，有机会我会专门介绍给大家滴）。票价三元，上船投币，可以刷电子钱包或者支付宝。

随着水上巴士向拱宸桥方向行进，我们会穿过很多个桥洞。有些桥洞的内侧，会刻有关于运河的背景，其中有一处就介绍到乾隆皇帝。

乾隆与京杭大运河结下了不解的渊源，曾经6次经由此南巡。从梁柱上可以看到，分别是：乾隆十六年（1751）、乾隆二十二年（1757）、乾隆二十七年（1762）、乾隆三十年（1765）、乾隆四十五年（1780）和乾隆四十九年（1784）。乾隆十六年（1751）弘历帝南巡，考查江苏、浙江、安徽三省交纳皇粮情况。查得苏、皖两省积欠额巨，而浙省未予拖欠。皇帝大笔一挥，免除浙省地丁钱粮三十万两以资奖励。当地政府将“圣谕”刻于石碑之上，晓谕官民。

Vicky去的时候正是初夏，两岸的低垂的柳枝不经让人想起唐代诗人张旭的一首七言绝句：

《柳》

濯濯烟条拂地垂，城边楼畔结春思。

请君细看风流意，未减灵和殿里时。

沿岸的树上停着许多不知名的大鸟原谅我的渣拍照技术和手机，实在捕捉不到他们的倩影😫，外形有些像是企鹅，超级肥😂我和妈妈都很好奇，他们是怎么做到悠闲地站在树梢上的。

我们还遇到一处标注着「海关」字样的停泊处，其实我很好奇为什么运河沿线会有海关来着，有知道的小伙伴欢迎给我留言呀😂主要服务于附近的海关船只，所以水上巴士不会在此停靠。

香积寺站到了，有不少游客上岸。这里有信义坊、香积寺、富义仓、胜利河美食街等著名景点，之后我会专门写一写这里的啦📖

随着水上公交的到站，我们登上岸。左手边是京杭大运河博物馆，右手边就是拱宸桥了。这里有太多可以介绍的景观和历史，等Vicky慢慢介绍给大家咯😉
