Depressing SEO insights into the teenage student's mind?
View this post on Hive: Depressing SEO insights into the teenage student's mind?
I've moved to Hive, along with most other people, following Justin Sun's takeover of Steem in the Spring of 2020. I believe hive is a lot more decentralised than Steem!
Don't want to be too negative about this:
Isn't that how most people perceive, use and conduct sociology?
To me it seems a very tough project because you would need yuuuge sample sizes to control for noise and variables.
Therefore it is very convenient to be extremely vague...
Yes fair point!
I am of course just speculating. It's a most difficult task to uncover the intention behind people's searches.

I didnt know you also teach online. Interesting. This blog was also interesting to me because I am just getting back on top of my own website (and online teaching business) and I need to get on top of seo as part of that.
Isn't there a current 'downtrend' in sociology, as a subject? (from a students interest perspective?)
I see this area as being one negatively affected for yourself (possibly).
I won't go into my own postmodernist rants here, but just positing the possibility that it might be a 'diminishing market'..?

( I noticed a post you made a while back, about having to move and 'live in a hovel' somewhere abroad...
My hovel is a detached 1 bedroom bungalow with balconies and aircon, and tiled throughout...far from a hovel ( unless you are living in a mansion now of course! lol)
The rent - including electric and water - is only around $230 a month.
So don't despair !
Here is a pic from the balcony after picking some fresh chili and coriander(cilantro) from the garden..
A level numbers have actually increased in the last five years, but that reflects demographics.
Sociology had increased relative to history which is a good sign.
I only need 20 sign ups - currently there's 40K students!
Your rent sounds cheap! Good strategy. Why pay for what you don't need!

I don't think any trends, one way or another, will really effect your needs, then..
I downsized over the last 10 years, from 250k a year, down to 20k, and all the free time that comes with it.. (and being a much nicer person!)
I like my life debt free and simple, nowadays...
Cool... that'd a hell of a drop!
I'm quite happy around that $20K a year mark.

Hell of at lot less time running on a wheel like a hamster going nowhere, more like!
Thanks for this write-up on SEO. I essentially understand what it is, but have never been good at applying it or telling someone how to apply it.
Talking about the bounce rate of searching for Sociology help vs tuition or some other key-word was very helpful.
I'm always on google trends!
SEO is something of a dark-art!
