Stone Monument for Great Master Monk Hae So in Chiljangsa Temple, Anseong City
The oldest thing I saw in this temple was the stong monument of black marble for the great master monk Hae So who had lived for 972-1054 AD.
The monument was displayed with 3 parts. The body was broken, and it couldn't sustain the weight of the head part.

What I'd like to show you is the body of the monument, it was made up of black marble. The black marble is a very precious material in Korea, moreover, the marble was very rare in Korea. The main material was granite.
The body was broken into 2 pieces.
The most impressive part of the monument was the carved side appearances. The relief of the dragon was very famous for its vivid living appearances.
