The Frequency of Link Promotions.
When it comes to promoting your website on social media, in the terms of products and services promotion, it is important to remember that your fans and followers don't want to be hit with ad after ad after ad.
Note, I am not talking about running paid promotions where your ad go outs to people that aren't following you or fans of your page, these are totally acceptable. What I am referring to is constant posting to your Facebook page or Twitter timeline. They say variety is the spice of life and you really do need to mix things up. As a rule of thumb only one in four posts should be a sales post promoting your products or services and at best if you are making one post per day then you should only be using up to 2 promotional posts per week, if posting more than once maybe 2 to 3 times a day then more promotion of your wares is acceptable.
Mix things up by throwing in related news, inspirational quotes, stories relating to your business sector. The goal is to engage and entertain your fans and followers, build up a rapport and a trust factor, that way they are more likely to do business with you. There are exceptions to this rule, you may offer daily deals or have a line of 1000's of products you want to get out there, if this is the case then, yes, make a promotional post every day, but also include other posts as well.
