Spanish Old Capital: Visit Toledo / 西班牙故都：探访托雷多

As is known, Madrid is the capital of Spain, however people don't know that at the summit of its power, the capital of the vast empire of spain, was a city called Toledo, 70 kilometers in the south of Madrid.Therefore, the changes of Toledo and Madrid can be said to connect a modern history of Spain.We decided to explore the mystery of these changes during our journey.

世人都知道西班牙的首都马德里，却不知道，在西班牙最强盛的时期，这个庞大的日不落帝国的首都，是马德里以南70公里处的一座城市，名叫托雷多。因此，托雷多和马德里的变迁，可以说串联了一部西班牙的近现代史。我们决定用一天的行程，探索这些变迁的奥秘。

Toledo, a city of only a few tens of thousands of people, is an attraction with a very strange spectacle of multicultural integration. As you stroll through the streets, you can often find churches, mosques, houses, Renaissance palaces that integrate Arab、 Roman and Jewish styles.This is why UNESCO has given the city the title of a cultural heritage city of humanity.

托雷多，是一个仅有几万人口的小城 ，但却可以看到非常奇特的多文化融合奇观。当你在街道上漫步时，不经意间总是能够看到融合了阿拉伯和罗马风格的教堂、清真寺、房屋、犹太教堂或是文艺复兴风格的宫殿。也正因为此，联合国教科文组织授予了整座城市人类文化遗产城市的称号。

The epitome of multicultural integration is the cathedral.The cathedral in Toledo is the cathedral of the archbishop of Spain and is one of the most important attractions in the world.The western gothic towers, the internal gothic reliefs, the baroque painted glass, are all very elaborate.At the same time, this is also a huge treasure house, all kinds of religious sacred vessels, artworks of Raphael, goya and other true masters, are reserved in this amazing place.The cathedral was the greatest place of worship under the rule of the Romans, the arabs and the Spanish, and it had also experienced constant destruction and reconstruction in a duration of 200 years, until the end of the 15th century it was completed. /

多文化融合的集大成者，便是大教堂。托雷多市的大教堂是西班牙的大主教教堂，同时也是世界上最重要的名胜建筑之一。西哥特式的塔楼，内部哥特式的浮雕，巴洛克式的彩绘玻璃，都非常精美细致。同时，这也是一个巨大的藏宝室，各类宗教圣器，拉斐尔、戈雅等大师的真迹，也是比比皆是，令人叹为观止。大教堂在罗马人、阿拉伯人、西班牙统治时期，分别是其大主教堂，因此也经历不断的毁灭和重修，前后修建了200年时间，直到15世纪末才完工。

Looking down on the whole city, you will find that the city is surrounded by a wilderness.As you can imagine, in ancient Toledo is a traffic fort, which is the struggle site of Various governors.

俯瞰整个城市，会发现这座城市四周都被一片荒原包围。可以想见，在古代托雷多就是一个交通要塞，是古来兵家必争之地。

It is also known as the land of the sword making, and it is said that the most valuable swords of European aristocrats come from here.The prop sword in the Game of Throne, is also casted from Toledo.

这里还是著名的铸剑之乡，据说欧洲贵族最喜欢的宝剑大都出自这里。权利的游戏中的道具剑，也是由此地铸造。

When king Felipe II moved his capital to Madrid in 1561, Toledo's political position began to deteriorate and Madrid began to shine like the jewel of Spain's crown.From Toledo back in Madrid, we will continue to seek the glory of Spanish royalty.

1561年国王费利佩二世迁都马德里，托雷多的政治地位开始急转而下，而马德里开始像西班牙皇冠上的宝石一样闪闪夺目。从托雷多回到马德里，我们也将继续探寻西班牙皇室的荣耀。
