Hotter 'N Hell Hundred

It's getting close to Hotter'N Hell time again. Are you registered yet?

Hotter'N Hell Hundred is billed as a "right" of passage in Texas. It is one of the oldest and largest cycling events in the world that takes place in Wichita Falls, Texas in August every year.

It is always held 9 days before Labor Day which means this year it will be held on August 23, 2018 through August 26, 2018. Well over 13,000 cyclists are expected to arrive in Wichita Falls, Texas from all over the world.

Hotter'N Hell was born in 1982 when Wichita Falls was planning its' centennial. The cycling event was proposed-100 miles ride in 100 degree heat.

There are both professional and amateur riders as well as many other events planned.

Temperatures in Wichita Falls frequently reach and exceed the 100 degree mark by noon.

Beginning 7:05 am 100 mile participants must reach "Hell's Gate" at the 60 mile mark no later than 12:30 pm or else cannot qualify to finish the 100 mile segment. A shorter route which averages 20 miles an hour is provided for those entrants. It is possible to complete the ride in five hours or less for well-trained athletes, however, most complete it in six to nine hours.

Additional events are held throughout the weekend including mountain bike races good food and entertainment.
