I recently completed the Landmarks of Great Britain silver coin series.

The final installment in this four coin set is the Buckingham Palace coin.

This coin, produced by the Royal Mint, has a limited mintage of 50,000. It weighs one ounce and is .999 pure. The Coin has a £2 face value.

Buckingham Palace is a working Royal Palace and Queen Elizabeth II’s official residence in London. It was initially purchased by King George III in 1761. It has served as the official London residence to Britain’s Kings and Queens since 1837. According to Buckingham’s official website:

Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms. These include 19 state rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. Source

^{Big Ben is the bell within the Elizabeth (clock) Tower at the British Houses of Parliament. The tower is over 96 meters tall and the bell weighs a whopping 30,335lbs.}

^{Tower Bridge}

^{London trip 2009... ahh to be 35 again.... 😄 The Tower Bridge was built between 1886 and 1894 and crosses the Thames river near the famous Tower of London. The bridge is 800ft long and each tower is 213ft tall.}

^{Trafalgar Square}

^{Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square 2013. Trafalgar Square is a public square in central London. Many galleries and historic buildings line the perimeter of the square which was named after Britain’s 1805 Victory in the Battle of Trafalgar. The area serves as a staging ground for many of the city’s cultural events.}

The Queen’s image is displayed on the face (obverse)of each coin. The background of the Big Ben coin features a stippled background. The obverse of the remaining three coins has a more formal/structured background.

The Landmarks of Britain coin series was minted between 2017 and 2019.
